Zusammenfassung:The exhibition focuses on Wanda Pimentel's iconic production Involvement (Rio de Janeiro, 1943), made from 1967 to 1984. The focus of the exhibition, which exhibits about 30 paintings from institutional and private collections, is in the years 1967-69, its most prolific period. Counting on a solid trajectory, with national and international exhibitions, this is the first monographic show of Wanda Pimentel dedicated exclusively to the series Involvement. The works, whose scenes are of plated and vibrant colors, depict fragments of the female body in the midst of everyday objects such as appliances, furniture and utensils. The parts of the body are mixed with interiors well delimited by lines and geometric shapes. Domestic objects such as teapots, clothes, shoes, umbrella, sewing machine, perfume, telephone, ashtray, among others, form the compositions. This relationship reveals in the artist's work a critique of consumer society and the period of intense sexual repression and ideas in the context of the country's military dictatorship. It is also a key moment of the feminine emancipation, from which the artist is used to treat the representation of the body from the gaze of a woman who claims, even if subtly, the feminine place in art, especially in Brazilian art. In the series, the body portrayed by Pimentel appears in a fragmented way, reinforcing the questions about the annulment of feminine subjectivity and the representation of the body of the woman as object of desire of the masculine gaze. The exhibition integrates the axis of expositions around the theme of Stories of Sexuality, along with that of the artists Miguel Rio Branco and Toulouse-Lautrec
