505 | 8 | |a This third edition of Renewable Energy is undoubtedly one of the most complete accounts of the subject, from source through to extraction and use. The book is academically rigorous, but accessible. The author first describes the effect of the sun on the atmosphere and the creation of wind and waves, including the effects of global warming. For each type of renewable energy, from direct solar radiation to wind and biomass, there follows a technical description of the devices that can be used to transform the energy into useful forms. The author explores new solar cell types, including polymer and organic cells, new biofuel processes and new wave energy devices. The final part of the book loos at social and economic aspects of renewable energy the costs of our current fuel bills versus new energy sources, and the difference it could make to developing as well as developed countries. The concept of whole new energy systems based around wind, solar, and other energies is put into a real-life context. Key features include: Reference paths: the reader may follow the general process from source through to distribution, or concentrate on a specific type of energy. The material is divided into undergraduate text and advanced options. Details the significant expansion of the field since the publication of the previous edition. Updated material includes offshore wind technologies, polymer and organic solar cells, new developments in hydrogen storage, pipeline transmission, biofuel processes, and wave energy devices, evaluation of biomass options, and an outlook on the renewable energy market. * The only rigorous theory and applications book available * Provides the principles of renewable energy flows/sources and energy conversion processes * Details the significant expansion of the field since the publication of the previous editions | |

* The only rigorous theory and applications book available * Provides the principles of renewable energy flows/sources and energy conversion processes * Details the significant expansion of the field since the publication of the previous editions TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING / Power Resources / Alternative & Renewable bisacsh Renewable energy sources fast Renewable energy sources Energieplanung (DE-588)4191686-4 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaftlichkeit (DE-588)4066424-7 gnd rswk-swf Energieversorgung (DE-588)4014736-8 gnd rswk-swf Nachhaltigkeit (DE-588)4326464-5 gnd rswk-swf Physik (DE-588)4045956-1 gnd rswk-swf Recycling (DE-588)4076573-8 gnd rswk-swf Energievorrat (DE-588)4070814-7 gnd rswk-swf Energieerzeugung (DE-588)4070813-5 gnd rswk-swf Erneuerbare Energien (DE-588)4068598-6 gnd rswk-swf Energietechnik (DE-588)4014725-3 gnd rswk-swf Umweltverträglichkeit (DE-588)4061655-1 gnd rswk-swf Erneuerbare Energien (DE-588)4068598-6 s Nachhaltigkeit (DE-588)4326464-5 s Umweltverträglichkeit (DE-588)4061655-1 s 1\p DE-604 Physik (DE-588)4045956-1 s 2\p DE-604 Energieversorgung (DE-588)4014736-8 s Recycling (DE-588)4076573-8 s 3\p DE-604 Wirtschaftlichkeit (DE-588)4066424-7 s 4\p DE-604 Energieplanung (DE-588)4191686-4 s 5\p DE-604 Energievorrat (DE-588)4070814-7 s 6\p DE-604 Energieerzeugung (DE-588)4070813-5 s 7\p DE-604 Energietechnik (DE-588)4014725-3 s 8\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe Srensen, Bent, 1941- Renewable energy 3rd ed Amsterdam ; Boston : Elsevier Academic Press, 2004 0126561532 9780126561531 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 6\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 7\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 8\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
