for funding the project. Thanks are also extended to URS
for commissioning the excavation and especially to Nick
Finch who helped enormously with the smooth running of
the project. Work was completed under the auspices of the
main contractor, Farrans, who supplied both the
machinery and the welfare facilities and were helpful
throughout. James Drummond-Murray managed the
project for OA East.
The Written Scheme of Investigation was written by
Nick Finch and Dr Jess Tipper of Suffolk County Council
monitored the archaeological works. Mike Cuddeford
