Zusammenfassung: | In the mid-1960's I had the pleasure of attending a talk by Lotfi Zadeh at which he presented some of his basic (and at the time, recent) work on fuzzy sets. Lotfi's algebra of fuzzy subsets of a set struck me as very nice; in fact, as a graduate student in the mid-1950's, I had suggested similar ideas about continuous-truth-valued propositional calculus (inffor "and", sup for "or") to my advisor, but he didn't go for it (and in fact, confused it with the foundations of probability theory), so I ended up writing a thesis in a more conventional area of mathematics (differential algebra). I especially enjoyed Lotfi's discussion of fuzzy convexity; I remember talking to him about possible ways of extending this work, but I didn't pursue this at the time. I have elsewhere told the story of how, when I saw C. L. Chang's 1968 paper on fuzzy topological spaces, I was impelled to try my hand at fuzzi fying algebra. This led to my 1971 paper "Fuzzy groups", which became the starting point of an entire literature on fuzzy algebraic structures. In 1974 King-Sun Fu invited me to speak at a U. S. -Japan seminar on Fuzzy Sets and their Applications, which was to be held that summer in Berkeley |

Nair Second Edition Heidelberg Physica-Verlag HD 2001 1 Online-Ressource (XIII, 314 p) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Studies in Fuzziness and Soft Computing 20 In the mid-1960's I had the pleasure of attending a talk by Lotfi Zadeh at which he presented some of his basic (and at the time, recent) work on fuzzy sets. S. -Japan seminar on Fuzzy Sets and their Applications, which was to be held that summer in Berkeley Mathematics Mathematical Logic and Foundations Mathematics of Computing Mathematics, general Math Applications in Computer Science Computational Intelligence Economic Theory/Quantitative Economics/Mathematical Methods Computer science / Mathematics Mathematical logic Computational intelligence Economic theory Mathematik (DE-588)4037944-9 gnd rswk-swf Fuzzy-Menge (DE-588)4061868-7 gnd rswk-swf Fuzzy-Logik (DE-588)4341284-1 gnd rswk-swf Fuzzy-Geometrie (DE-588)4608510-5 gnd rswk-swf Fuzzy-Topologie (DE-588)4121833-4 gnd rswk-swf Fuzzy-Graph (DE-588)4608511-7 gnd rswk-swf Fuzzy-universelle Algebra (DE-588)4608509-9 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Mathematik (DE-588)4037944-9 s Fuzzy-Logik (DE-588)4341284-1 s 2\p DE-604 Fuzzy-Graph (DE-588)4608511-7 s 3\p DE-604 Fuzzy-Topologie (DE-588)4121833-4 s 4\p DE-604 Fuzzy-Geometrie (DE-588)4608510-5 s 5\p DE-604 Fuzzy-universelle Algebra (DE-588)4608509-9 s 6\p DE-604 Fuzzy-Menge (DE-588)4061868-7 s 7\p DE-604 Nair, Premchand S. aut Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 9783790824940 https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-7908-1808-6 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 6\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 7\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
