SUMMARY OF THE BOOK
The volume The Party s and the Soviet s staff from MASSR and MSSR (1924-
1956) is the result of the project of the young researchers „The specificity and the
role of the institutions and of the Soviet s and Party s staff from MASSR and MSSR
(1924-1956) (Strategic direction - The National patrimony and the development of
the society), with the code 15.819.06.13F, supported by the Academy of Science
from Moldova.
The projects team, - during 2015 consisted of eight members - Marius Tarifa
(coordinator), Lilia Crudu, Tudor Sclifos, Veronica SpTnu, Denis Bulancea, Roman
Russu, Rodica Nastas and Lidia Enachi (accountant).
The main goal of the book was to show in a larger perspective the problem of
the staff and of the institutions in MASSR and MSSR. The book has two sections -
Studia and Studia Documentaría. It contains the papers presented at the conference
of the young researchers held at the Institute of History in Chisinau, on the 22nd of
October 2015.
The first section begins with the study of Lilia Crudu, dedicated to the
biography of Gherasim Rudi, originary from the left-bank of the Dniester river, who
maintained for many years in the position of MSSR s prime-minister. The biography
of another member of the Party, S. Desiatnikov, who held the position of the
supervisor of the religious cults of MSSR in 1944-1949, belongs to Nicolae Fu§tei. The
study of Marius Tarifa deals with the activity of the Bureau of the CC of the CP(B)
from Moldova during the war years 1941-1944. The study of Mariana Bagrin refers to
the control of the media from MSSR by the Party s Section of Propaganda and
Agitation, during the first postwar years. Complementary to the papers of Lilia Crudu
and N. Fu§tei, is the study of Victor Krupyna, dedicated to the daily life of the Party s
staff from Kiev. He shows with referrence to the Party s documents, the numerous
domains in which the staff had privileges. The staff policy in the domain of arts, is the
topic of the research of Gheorghe Nicolaev. He describes the official policy towards
the national staff and the organized immigration of the specialists from other Soviet
republics and regions to Moldavian SSR.
The second section begins with the text of Denis Bulancea on biographies of
the members of the first Presidium of the MSSR s Supreme Soviet in February 1941.
This was the only institution in which the Moldavians were in majority, despite the
fact that the official language was the Russian one. The documentary paper of
Roman Russu is an introduction to the process of foundation and evolution of the
Party s organizations from Chisinau between 1944 and 1948, in its three sectors -
Leninsky, Stalinsky and Krasnoarmeysky. Eugen T. Sclifos edited a number of
documents concerning the activity of the Soroca s county executive committee.
Rodica Nastas exposed the image of the evolutions from MASSR and MSSR in the
Moldavian historical handbooks of the IXth and Xllth grades, published in Chisinau
between 2003 and 2013. The collection of studies ends with the text of Veronica
Spmu dedicated to the Constitutions of the MASSR and the MSSR from 1925, 1938
and 1941.
