Advances in Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Power Conversion Systems addresses the technological
challenges of fluctuating and unreliable power supply in grid-connected photovoltaic (PV)
systems to help students, researchers, and engineers work toward more PV installations in
the grid to make society more sustainable and reliable while complying with grid regulations.
The authors combine their extensive knowledge and experience in this book to address both
the basics of the power electronic converter technology and the advances of such practical
electric power conversion systems.
This book includes extensive, step-by-step practical application examples to assist students
and engineers to better understand the role of power electronics in modern PV applications
and solve the practical issues in grid-connected PV systems.
Yongheng Yang is an associate professor at Aalborg University. His research focuses on
power electronics and its applications. He is an associate editor of the CPSS Transactions
on Power Electronics and Applications and an editor of the Mathematical Problems in
Engineering. He received the 2018 IET Premium Award.
Katherine A. Kim is an assistant professor at Ulsan National Institute of Science and
Technology. She is an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics» the
IEEE PELS Women in Engineering (WIE) chair for 2018» and an IEEE PELS Member-At-Large
for 2016-2018.
Frede Blaabjerg has been a professor at Aalborg University since 1998. He has received
17 IEEE Prize Paper Awards and was nominated in 2014 - 2017 by Thomson Reuters to
be among the 250 most cited researchers in engineering worldwide. He is the 2019-2020
president of the IEEE Power Electronics Society.
Ariya Sangwongwanich is a postdoc fellow at Aalborg University. His research interests
include the power converter control, photovoltaic systems, reliability in power electronics,
and multilevel converters. He has published more than 20 technical papers in these areas.
