The relatively limited research base in India is then considered. In the second half of the chapter we summarize the kinds of school systems in the four European countries represented in this book (England, France, Germany, Netherlands), Australia, and India (especially in the states of Punjab and Tamil Nadu). This is to provide a context for the chapters which follow.
