Conclusion
Municipality of Skenderaj is part of the ethnographic area of Drenica. It
stretches between the Kosovo Field and the Dukagjin Plain, with which it
has shared the common fate of conception and development of cultures
for millennia and centuries. Following the continental climate influenced
by the climate of the Adriatic coast, as well as the majority of the Republic
of Kosovo, good conditions for the development of agriculture, livestock
growth, the rich network of rivers and mineral resources caused the birth
and uninterrupted development of civilizations from the early Neolithic
era to the medieval periods, the theme of inclusion and treatment in this
book.
From our research which have gone on for years and have almost been
exhausting in the municipality of Skenderaj, we tried to give a table of rep-
resentation of all the discovery sites, most of which werent known before
with methods of reconnoisance, the existing excavations and with causal
findigs - mostly unpublished.
In total, 130 archaeological locations were found. 20 prehistoric locations
, 26 antique locations and 84 medieval locations (fig. 157).

Neolithic era (7000 - 3500 BC)
This period is proven by systematic archaeological excavations in the multi
layered settlement in Runik, from casual findings in two settlements in the
village of Qirez, in the toponym of Kershi and Arat e Biges, as well as in
the toponym of Arat e Shpatit in the village of Polac.
In Runik, thanks to the horizontal and vertical strata, we can continuously
follow the whole Neolithc era, the early Neolithic and the mid Neolithic
the Kosovan variant of the Strageva culture, as well as the late Neolithic,
the Kosovan variant of the Vinga culture. Also, in Runik, the coastal culture
of the Adriatic has been seen, the culture of Cakran, respectively a variant
of the Danillo culture.
Endolithic Era (3500 - 2600 BC)
It is represented by atypical fragments of ceramic pots which were found
in a plateau called Arat e Kishes In the village of Prekaz i Poshtem
Bronze Era (2600 -1100 BC)
This period is represented mostly from open field settlements and two
hilly settlements. Archaeological trackings in the open multi layered field
settlement of the Tice village have brought out two residency horizons:
the first horizon, which belongs to the early bronze era and the second
horizon which belongs to the late bronze era. The late bronze era is also
evidenced from superficial findings in two open field settlements in
Tushile and Krasaliq, as well as hilly settlements in Llausha and Syrigane.
Iron Era (1100 - IV century BC)
In the multi layered settlement in the Tice village, the iron era was also
present, respectively phase III of said era.
The Dardanian Kingdom Period (IV -1 century BC)
It was also discovered in the open field settlement in Tice

Antiquity (I - VI BC)
The antique era is represented by field settlements, fortified hill settle-
ments, graveyards and churches. The open field settlements were mostly
built in the early antique era, some of those on top of prehistoric foun-
dations. An exception would be the fortified field settlement (kastrum)
in the Arat e Hanit in Turiqec. Whereas in the late antique era fortified
settlements were built atop hills with good strategic position.
The open field settlements are evidenced in Runik. Prelloc, Qirez, Llaushe,
Turiqec, Qubrel, Kopiliq i Poshtem, Kopiliq i Eperm, Mikushnice, Kline e
Mesme, Terrnac, Terrnove, Murge, Abri e Poshtme and in Broje.
Hill settlements - castles are identified in Tushile, Kotorr, Syrigane, Llaushe
and Banje. They are called Gradine and Gjytet. Some of these settle-
ments were also built on prehistoric foundations
The traces of the churches in Syrigane, Kopiliq i Poshtem and Padalishte
must have belonged to the late antique era, as well as the graveyards in
Kopiliq i Poshtem and Syrigane.
Medieval (VII-XVII AD)
It is known from settlements, churches and cemeteries. The settlements
were built in open fields or soft plateaus. They are evidenced in Polac,
Tice, Tushile, Llaushe, Kline te Mesme, £ubrel, Rakinice, Aqareve, Likoc,
Plluzhine, Vojnik, Ozdrim, Krasmiroc, Kuqice, Leqine and Kllodernice.
In almost all the settlements in the Municipality of Skenderaj traces of
churches and cemeteries from the early medieval and up to the late me-
dieval era were found. The churches and graveyards are known with Alba-
nian names. The churches: Kishe , Kisha Jone , Te Kisha , Kisha e Mad-
he , Roga e Kishes , Arat e Kishes , Livadhi i Kishes etc. Wheras the
graveyards: Vorret e Mogme , Vorret e Krushqive and Vorret e Medha
