razmatra pojmove: islam, islamski svijet, modernost; potom razmatra
drugu modernu - novu paradigmu globalizacije, tekucu modernost, republi-
kanizam i liberalizam kao temelje modernoga politickog poretka, mnogos-
trukost modernosti i daje zakljucne napomene.
PRVI DIO: RAT I TERORIZAM
Autor u Uvodu razmatra Euroazijsku “sahovsku plocu” koja se proteze od Lisabo-
na do Vladivostoka, kao prostor za geopoliticku i geostratesku prevlast velikih sila.
PRVOPOGLAVL/E: STABILNA RAVNOTEZA TERORIZAMA: RADIKALNA
DESTRUKCIJAI OSVETA JEDNAKOM ILIVECOM SMRTI
Radikalizam drzavnog terorizma i terorizma samoubojica u odnosu su fru-
stracijske tolerancije. Postoje i stanovite mogucnosti medusobnih ñapada
oruzjem za masovno unistenje - nuklearnim, bioloskim i kemijskim oruzjeiru
Frustracijska tolerancija obaju terorizama - terorom protiv terora - radikale
zira njihove medusobne odnose i ostvaruje osvetnicke ciljeve, jednake ili vece
smrti. Unatoc tome, postoji mogucnost za medusobno uvazavanje i rjesenje
sukoba - stabilnu ravnotezu suradnje, mira, sigurnosti i zdravog rivalstva
medu sukobljenim stranama. Rjesenje je u pronalazenju umijeca politike koja
pravila ne samo provodi, negó ih i mijenja - pronalazenju politike koja nije
samo politika poüticarä (Urlich Beck) i zadrtih ekstremista koji se orijentiraju
na politiku sile i dominacije, negó i politika drustva koje osuduje ekstremizam
religija; cime se potice recepcija svjetskog etosa. Rjesenje je i u uvazavanju
mnogostrukih identiteta, dijaloskog komuniciranja, ukljucujuci i interkultur-
no komuniciranje medu sukobljenim stranama, kao umijeca kretanja kroz
kulturne prepreke, ne samo viada negó i gradana - pojedinaca, drustvenih
grupa, razlicitih udruzenja i institucija. ízvan svake sumnje, rjesenje je i u
prevladavanju siromastva i bijede - najrazornijeg oruzja masovnog unistenja.
Gospodarstva drzavnih terorizama i terorizama samoubojica cvrsto su srasla
s 'normalnim gospodarstvima', pa je nadzor nad njima i financijskim izvorima

njihove moci jedna od znacajnih pretpostavki prevladavanja terorizama. Na
kraju, ali ne manje vazno, rjesenje je i u snaznoj i nepristranoj kritici terorizma
od mnogih autora i aktivista za Ijudska prava. Podsjecamo samo na neka ta-
kva imena koja se navode i u ovom tekstu - Yeshayahu Leibowitz, John Rose,
Marc Ellis, Jessica Stern, Israel Shahak, Irena Klepfisz, Edward Said, Noam
Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Arundhati Roy, Amartya Sen, Amin Maalouf.
DRUGO POGLAVLJE: IZRAELSKO-PALESTINSKI SUKOB: CINIZAM PO-
LITIKE POPUSTANJA I KOMPROMISA SA ZLOM MEDUNARODNE ZA-
JEDNICE. Kult izraelske okupacije, svekolike ratne destrukcije s pecatom krva-
voga terora, bijeloga terora, unistavanja imovine i getoiziranja Palestinaca traje
od njihova masovnog protjerivanja iz Palestine 1948. godine do dañas. Stravicno
razoren Pojas Gaze, u srpnju i kolovozu 2014. godine, tijekom oruzanog suko-
ba, izraelske vojske i Hamasa, neizbrisiva je crna mrlja na savjesti covjecanstva,
posebice na savjesti tzv. uzornih liberalnih demokracija Zapada. One se medu-
sobno vojno ne sukobljavaju, ali cesto sramotno toleriraju nepostivanje osnov-
nih ljudskih prava i sloboda. “Pojas Gaze postao je groblje. Gaza je do trenutka
izbijanja ovoga rata bila zatvor, a sada ce postad groblje gdje ce biti pokopane
temeljne ljudske vrijednosti” izjavio je Jean Asselborn, ministar vanjskih poslo-
va Luksemburga, za Deutschlandfunk, 5. kolovoza 2014., govoreci o izraelskom
bombardiranju UN-ovih skola u Pojasu Gaze.
DRUGI DIO: RODNIIDENTITET, KULTUR A MIRA I ISLAMSKI
FEMINIZAM
TRECE POGLAVLJE: RODNI IDENTITET IKULTURA MIRA. Autor raz-
matra odnos rodnoga identiteta i kulture mira, referirajuci se i na dva osnov-
na oblika mira - demokratski (liberalni) mir i koncepciju kulture mira. Oba
su oblika mira, medusobno, vise iskljuciva nego komplementarna. Eksplicitni
(vojni) i implicitni (nevojni) rat, ukljucujuci i bijeli teror te genocid, nisu cedo
modernosti, ali se u njoj korjenito transformiraju u moderne oblike barbariz-
ma. Opcenito, u stvarnosti su vecinski akteri rata muskoga roda, a angazman
za mir, pretezito, se prepoznaje kao obiljezje zenskoga roda, iako u kolektiv-
nim sukobima velika vecina zena podrzava ratove. Ucinkovito prevladavanje
rodnih stereotipa i kulture nasilja, ukljucujuci razvoj i ocuvanje mira, zahti-
jeva holisticko humano komuniciranje; od razine individué, obitelji, lokalne i
religijske zajednice, do nacionalne i globalne razine.
CETVRTO POGLAVLJE: KURAN KAO IZVORISLAMSKOGA FEMINIZ-
MA. Dug je, spor i tezak put osvajanja slobode muslimanskih zena od vje-
kovne dominacije “bogova patrijarhalnoga centralizma” i njihova okorjeloga
sacro egoisma. Muslimanke su tvorci sekularnoga feminizma i islamskoga
feminizma, koji nisu zatvoreni entiteti. Razmatrajuci status zena u Kur anu,
autor polazi od statusa zena u dzahilijjetu - predislamskome dobu. Sazeto

razmatra sadrzaj Kur ana i problem pristupa kur anskom tekstu, osnovne
vrijednosno-normativne determinante statusa zena u Kur'anu, prije svega, u
braku i obitelji, te termin, pojam, oblik i ulogu islamskoga feminizma. Islam-
ske feministkinje zahtijevaju obrazovanje, zaposljavanje, ravnopravnost i jed-
nakost lena i muskaraca, ukljucujuci pravo da zena moze biti demokratskim
postupkom birana na najvise duznosti u drzavi, predvoditi zajednicku moli-
tvu muskaraca i zena, biti sutkinja, muftinica. U nekim zemljama s vecin-
skom muslimanskom populacijom to se, ovisno od utjecaja patrijarhalnoga
centralizma, postupno ostvaruje. Islamski je feminizam, u cjelini, radikalniji
od sekularnog feminizma - zahtijeva punu ravnopravnost muskaraca i zena
kako u javnoj, tako i u privatnoj sferi.
TRECI DIO: SLOBODAI RAZVOJ
PETO POGLAVLJE: PROSPEKTIVNO ODGOVORNA SLOBODA KAO
UVJET RAZVOJA. U teorijsko-znanstvenim, interdisciplinarnim raspravama
0 problemima drustvenoga razvoja, dva su osnovna pristupa - ekonomizam
(tehnokratski pristup) i postekonomizam (sociokulturni pris tup). Ekonomi-
zam reducirá drustvene procese na kvantitativne pokazatelje, ukljucujuci pro-
fit, drustveni bruto-proizvod, nacionalni dohodak, nacionalni dohodak po gla-
vi stanovnika. To obezvrjeduje ili iskljucuje sociokulturne pokazatelje razvoja -
politicku, ekonomsku i trzisnu demokraciju, vladavinu prava i zakona, zdravlje
1 dignitet zivota, stvarnu rodnu jednakost, obrazovanje, eticke, ekoloske i ine
kulturno-antropoloske cinitelje. O raspodjeli i alokaciji kvantitativnih pokaza-
telja, odlucuju mocni pojedinci, te mocna i umrezena - politicka, ekonomska
i financijska oligarhija. Nema napretka jedne nacije ako se povecava njezin
gospodarski rast, bez povecanja kvalitete zivota cijele nacije. Prospektivno od-
govorna sloboda s ostalim sociokulturnim ciniteljima razvoja, najucinkovitije
je sredstvo za nacionalni i globalni odrzivi razvoj. Neki istaknuti ekonomski
teoreticari razvoja odbacili su ekonomizam (Landes,1998; Martinussen, 1997;
Hirschman, 1958; Sen, 1999;.). Sen potice javni eticki diskurs, razvio je vrlo
razradenu koncepciju postekonomizma - teoriju globalnoga ekonomskog ra-
zvoja, a razvoj définira kao slobodu koja se ostvaruje nadilazenjem stvarnih
nesloboda. Sljedbenicima sociokulturnoga pristupa drustvenom razvoju, osim
ostalih, pripadaju i Muhammad Yunus, Philip B. Smith, Manfred Max-Neef.
SESTO POGLAVLJE: SMISAO I MOGUCNOST RAZVOJA EUROPSKO-
GA IDENTITETA BOSNJAKA. Autor, prije svega, razmatra smisao europ-
skoga projektnog identiteta Bosnjaka. Smisao shvaca kao usmjerenost, indi-
vidualnih i kolektivnih, subjekata-aktera na neki cilj ili svrhu djelovanja ko-
jim se ostvaruju pozeljne vrijednosti. Modus vrednovanja i izbora pojedinih
vrijednosti je princip vrijednosti-mogucnosti. Autor postulira univerzalne
sadrzaje i strukturu vrijednosti, prvenstveno, Shaloma H. Schwartza, zatim
Terryja Eagletona i Jeana Baudrillarda. Deset motivacijskih tipova Schwar-

tzove teorije vrijednosti, jesu: moc, postignuce, hedonizam, poticaj, nezavi-
snost, univerzalizam, dobrohotnost, tradicija, konformizam, sigurnost. Autor
je Schwartzovu tablicu tipova vrijednosti dopunio vlastitim izborom novih
terminalnih i instrumentalnih vrijednosti. Smisao je europskoga, projektnog,
identiteta Bosnjaka, usmjerenost na projekt ostvarivanja vlastite buducno-
sti: vlastitih vrijednosti - interesa, potreba, zelja; ciljeva i/ili svrha djelovanja,
radi izgradnje novoga identiteta. To omogucuje razvoj drustvenog polozaja
Bosnjak(inj)a i ostvarivanje njihovih zajednickih razvojnih mogucnosti.
SEDMO POGLAVLJE: MOGUCNOSTI MODERNIZACIJE I RAZVOJA
ISLAMSKOGA SVIJETA. Islamski je svijet, tijekom modernizadje Zapada,
stagnirao; u najboljem slucaju, postupno je napredovao. Spektar suvremenih
drustava islamskoga svijeta veoma je raznovrstan - od tradicionalnih do de-
mokratskih. Tradicija i modernost mogu zajedno, ukoliko je moderniziranje
autonomno djelo i ako se staro ne unistava, nego preobrazava. Bez vlastite
refleksivnosti i autonomne modernizacije, islamski svijet i sve tzv. “zemlje u
razvoju” u uvjetima planetarne dominacije neoliberalizma i mondijalizaci-
je zapadnog moderniteta, te u uvjetima islamskoga konzervativizma - biti
ce osudeni na siromastvo i nerazvijenost. Autonomnim moderniziranjem,
islamski ce svijet postati mocnijim i respektabilnijim subjektom globalnoga
komuniciranja, sto bi stvorilo pretpostavke i za prevladavanje rigidne inter-
pretacije i recepcije islama.
Autor u UMJESTO ZAKL/UCKA: LICA I NALICJA MODERNOSTI, osim
lica modernosti, sazeto razmatra i njezina nalicja - njezinu drugu, negativnu
i manje jasnu stranu. Na kraju teksta, ukljucujuci i uvid u vise istrazivanja,
daju se zakljucne misli o mogucnosti autonomnoga moderniziranja i razvoja
islamskoga svijeta.
SUMMARY
ISLAMIC WORLD AND MODERNITY
The author in THE INTRODUCTION: CONCEPT ISLAM, ISLA-
MIC WORLD AND MODERNITY considers of the concepts: islam,
islamic world and modernity; then considers another modern - a new para-
digm of globalization, the current modernity, republicanism and liberalism
as the foundations of modern political order, multiplicity of modernity and
gives concluding remarks.
PART ONE: WAR AND TERRORISM
Author in the Introduction discusses the Eurasian chessboard, stretching
from Lisbon to Vladivostok, as the space for geo-political and geo-strategic
domination of the super powers.
CHAPTER ONE: STABLE BALANCE OF TERRORISMS: RADICAL DE-
STRUCTION AND REVENGE AT EQUAL OR GREATER DEATH. Radi-
calism of state terrorism and of suicides terrorism have been keeping some
relations of frustrated tolerance. There are and some possibilities of mutual
attacks by mass destroing weapon - nuclear, biological and chemical we-
apon. Frustrated tolerance both of terrorisms - by terror against of terror
- radicalizes their mutual relations and realizes of the revengeful purposes,
of the equal or the greater death. In spite of, there is a possibility of courtly
tolerance and the solution of that conflict - stable balance of cooperation,
peace, security and of sound competition between facing sides. The solu-
tion is in finding of politics art which some rules not only realises, than of
them and changes, too - finding of politics which doesn't only the politi-
cs of politicians (Urlich Beck) and of stubborn extremists that have been
closed with politics of power and domination, than and politics of society
that doesn't accept extreme explanations of religions and myths, that keep
stimmulatings of reception of world ethos - to man common principles of
autocontrol, norms and values, without a consideration to racism, national,
religious and cultural appurtenance. The solution is in an accepting of multi-
lateral identities and a stimulating of multilateral communication, including

and intercultural communication between conflict sides, too - as an art of
movement trough cultural obstacles, not only of some governments, than
and of citizens - of individuals, social groups, different civil organisations
and institutions. No question of that, the solution is in overcome of a poverty
and misery as the most destructive weapon of mass annihilation, too. Eco-

least, the solution is in strong and impartial critique of terrorism of many au-
thors and activists for human rights, too. We only remember on such names
that are adduced in this text - Yeshayahu Leibowitz, John Rose, Marc Ellis,
Jessica Stern, Israel Shahak, Irena Klepfisz, Edward Said, Noam Chomsky,
Howard Zinn, Arundhati Roy, Amartya Sen, Amin Maalouf.
CHAPTER TWO: THE ISRAEL1-PALESTINIAN CONFLICT: THE CYNI-
CISM OF APPEASEMENT POLICY AND OF COMPROMISE WITH
EVIL OF INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY. The cult of the Israeli occupa-
tion, the overall of war destruction with the seal of bloody terror, white terror,
destruction of property and the ghettoisation of Palestinians runs from their
mass expulsion from Palestine in 1948 to the present. Terribly devastated Gaza
Strip, in July and August 2014, during of armed conflict the Israeli army and
Hamas, the indelible black mark on the conscience of humanity, especially, on
the conscience so-called exemplary liberal democracies of the West. They do
not conflict each other militarily, but often tolerate shameful disregard of basic
human rights and freedoms. "The Gaza Strip has become a cemetery. Gaza is
until the moment of the outbreak this war, was a prison, and now will become a
graveyard where they will be buried fundamental human values”, said Jean As-
selborn, Luxembourg Foreign Minister, for Deutschlandfunk, August 5, 2014,
speaking about the Israeli bombing of the UN schools in the Gaza Strip.

CHAPTER THREE: GENDER IDENTITY AND THE CULTURE OF PEACE.
The author examines the relation between of gender identity and culture of peace,
referring to the two basic forms of peace - democratic (liberal) concept of peace
and culture of peace. Both forms of peace, each other more exclusive than com-
plementary. Explicit (military) and implicit (non-military) war, including the whi-
te terror and genocide, are not the child of modernity; but instead, in modernity,
they have been radically transformed into contemporary forms of barbarism. Ge-
nerally speaking, the majority of some participants in war are male gender, whe-
reas peace engagement is mostly recognized as a characteristic of female gender,
although in the collective conflicts the vast majority of women supported wars.
The exclusiveness both forms of peace, for effectively overcoming of gender ste-
reotypes and the culture of violence, including a development and peacekeeping

of peace, requires holistic human communication; from the level of an individual,
family, local and religious community, to the national and global level.
CHAPTER FOUR: QUR'AN AS THE SOURCE OF ISLAMIC FEMINISM.
Long, slow and difficult was the journey of Muslim women in wining of their
freedom from age-long domination of “gods of patriarchal centralism” and
their sacro egoism. Muslim women are subjects of secular feminism and isla-
mic feminism, which are not severely separate beings. Reflecting the status
of women in the Quran, author the first reflects their status before of islamic
period. The author, afterwards, concisely reflects contents of the Qur an and
the problem of approaches to Qur an text, basic value-normative determi-
nants of the status of women in the Qur an, above all, in marriage and family,
then provides insight into the term, concept, form and role of islamic femi-
nism. Islamic feminists demand education, employment, equal rights and
equality women and men, including the rights for women to be democratica-
lly elected to highest positions in a government; rights to lead joint worship
ceremony attended by both sexes, rights to become a judge, a female mufty,
etc. In some countries where Muslims are majority such claims have been
gradually promoted, depending on the influence of patriarchal centralism.
In generaly, islamic feminism is more radical then secular feminism — it calls
for full equality of men and women in both public and private spheres of life.
PART THREE: FREEDOM AND DEVELOPMENT
CHAPTER FIVE: PROSPECTIVE RESPONSIBLE FREEDOM AS CON-
DITION OF DEVELOPMENT. There are two basic accesses in the theo-
retical-scientific, interdisciplinary discussions about the problems of social
development - economism (technocratic access) and postekonomizam (so-
ciocultural access). Economism reduces of social processes on quantitative
indicators, including profit, social gross product, national income, national
income per capita. It devalues or eliminates of socio-cultural indicators deve-
lopment - of political, economic and market democracy, the rule of right and
law, health and dignity of life, real gender equality, education, ethical, ecologi-
cal and the others of cultural-anthropological factors. About the distribution
and allocation of quantitative indicators, decide powerful individuals, then
powerful and networked - political, economic and financial oligarchy. No
progress of a nation if it increases only her economic growth, without incre-
asing the quality of life of the entire nation. Prospective responsible freedom,
with the others socio-cultural factors of development, is the most effective
means for national and global sustainable development. Some prominent
economic theorists of development, rejected the economism (Landes, 1998;
Martinussen, 1997; Hirschman, 1958; Sen, 1999.). Sen encourages public
ethical discourse, he developed a very elaborate concept of postekonomism
- the theory of global economic development, and defines development as
freedom, which is achieved by overcoming real unfreedoms. The followers

of socio-cultural approach to social development, besides of the others, are
Muhammad Yunus, Philip B. Smith, Manfred Max-Neef, too.
CHAPTER SIX: SENSE AND POSSIBILITY OF DEVELOPMENT OF EU-
ROPEAN IDENTITY BOSNIAKS. The author, primarily, discusses the sense
of European planned identity of Bosniaks. He understands a sense as a orienta-
tion of individual and of collective subjects-actors to an objective or purpose of
acting for achieving of some desirable values. The manner of an evaluation and
a choice of some values is the principle of value-possibility. The author refers to
the theory of universal content and structure of values, above all, of Shalom H.
Schwartz, then of Terry Eagleton and of Jean Baudrillard. The ten of motivatio-
nal types of this Schwartz's theory of value, are: power, achievement, hedonism,
stimulation, autonomy, universalism, benevolence, tradition, conformity, secu-
rity. The author has supplemented Schwartz s table of types of values by own
choice of new terminal and of instrumental values. The sense of European of
planned identity of Bosniaks is an orientation to a project of realisation of own
the future: of own values - interests, needs, desires; of some objectives and/or
of some purposes of acting for achieving of new identity. It enables an alterati-
on for the better of social status of Bosniaks and a realisation of their common
of developmental possibilities.
CHAPTER SEVEN: POSSIBILITIES OF MODERNIZATION AND DE-
VELOPMENT OF ISLAMIC WORLD. Islamic world, during of the moder-
nization of West, has stagnated. In the best case, it has, step by step, maked
progress. Spectrum of contemporary societies of islamic world is very diffe-
rent - from traditional to democratic of societies. Tradition and modernity
can be in common, if a modernization autonomic work and if an old doesn't
destroy, than transforms. Without one’s own of reflexion and of autonomic
modernization, islamic world will be poor and undeveloped world as and all
poor countries during of planetary domination of neoliberalism and mondia-
lization of west modernity; then on the understandings of islamic conservati-
sm. By autonomic modernization, islamic world will become more powerful
and more respectable subject of global communication. It should make some
suppositions for a overcoming of islamic conservatism, too.
INSTEAD OF CONCLUSION: FACES AND REVERSES OF MODERNITY
The author besides of the faces of modernity, concise considers and her of Re-
verses — her another, negative and less clear side. The author, at the end of the
text, including and some researches, gives the concluding remarks about the
possibility of an autonomous modernizing and development of islamic world.
