Summary
The whole study of the Albanian linguistic heritage in the
field of linguistics is supplemented by a collection of studies
Lectures on Albanology issues . This is a summary of
lectures, references and articles drawn up and held in various
scientific activities: national and international scientific
conferences organized in the framework of commemoration
of prominent figures of Albanology, or even within the
various anniversaries of marked events for the Albanian
language as well as a summary of articles published in
national and international scientific journals among them and
with proceedings.
As a result of a continuous scientific research work in the
field of linguistics, these studies include, inter alia,
descriptions, analyzes, opinions and recommendations about
various issues that are addressed in the course of previous
studies, bringing new perspectives for them.
These works are designed to make known the work done
by linguists, scholars and remarkable people of linguistics,
who have given priority to the further exploration and the
development of the Albanian language in terms of language
discourse and the message given. Such an observation done
on the history of the Albanian language allows us to
understand the importance of it in the cultural progress of a
nation.
Considering the language education of young people as
important as possible, these studies also address issues
related to the teaching of the Albanian language and grammar
in particular in the education system in the country. The
theoretical problems are interlinked with practical ones,
didactic aspects with those of today s development of the
Albanian language, especially those related to the syntax field.
Ligjerime per f shtje te albanofogjise- (P€rmbledhje me trajtesa, studime dhe artikuj)
The design of this book in the following way is on
purpose: to propose to the students, novice teachers, and
language scholars not only a theoretical, methodological and
practical framework for dealing with language issues in
general, but also to introduce syntactical issues in particular.
The book contains 25 original works, of which, besides a
small number that are still in the process of publication (for
which the relevant scientific activity is referred to), the others
are published and are accompanied by relevant reference
data in relevant scientific activities and publication in the
respective scientific journals or in the book with a summary
of papers.
These works are divided into six chapters, grouped
according to the topics they deal with, respectively:
The first headline is titled Outstanding figures in
albanology and it contains works about prominent scholars
who have helped address some of the syntactic aspects of the
Albanian language, specifically about Kostaq Cipo, Selman
Riza, Mahir Domi, Jorgji Gjinari, Mehmet £eliku and
Maximilian Lambertz.
The great contribution of these outstanding figures on
grammatical issues on the Albanian language, especially on
the syntax, is introduced in this summary as objective as
subjective, bringing it back to attention and emphasizing the
value that their studies have at all times.
S. Riza’s philosophical language is characterized by the
unity of opposites and its characteristic style is enriched by
pure gege dialect, interwoven with a persistence to present
the language knowledge to the reader more clearly; All of
these assessments would best outline one of his sayings: One
does right only if he acts once with the courage of the wise, and
sometimes with a courageous wisdom.
The submission that has been made to some important
issues consistently handled with skill and perseverance in
Mahir Dorn’s Syntaxes brings modestly to the precious

contribution of the erudite of undefined values for the
importance of its numerous and quality works and their
actuallity as well judging upon the practicality of their content
that serve as a reference for many scholars.
Thanks to J. Gjinar s early and ongoing studies in some of
the linguistic fields, especially in dialectology, we have the
opportunity to recognize, analyze and compare the specific
linguistic characteristics of the tales of different areas of
Albania, the way of separation and the relationship they have
with literary language, thus becoming acquainted with
another help in the dialectical syntax study, a field less
studied in dialect studies in Albanian. In the second chapter
titled Theoretical Treatments , four papers are
summarized, two of which deal with specific syntax issues.
One of the major limbs of the sentence, the subject of the
sentence, is fully observed in some directions and from the
syntax of the sentence. It is mainly seen the subject of the
sentence and its relations with other parts of the sentence,
and from the syntax point of view of the period the second
work comes, which is a expanded study (Published in two
parts) on issues expressing the conditional reports in today s
Albanian language.
The other two papers covered in this section deal with
the way in which the titles of legal acts issued for education in
Albania can be viewed from a not only linguistic point of view
at different historical periods with a time span since 1920
until 2010. The fourth paper points out some linguistic
features of the legal texts.
The combination of a linguist s point of view with that of
the jurilingualist (who deals with various issues related to
terminology, syntax, organization of ideas, the proper style of
communication and the use of the language with the eye of
the role it plays and the importance it has in the language in
the field of law and legal texts) makes this column more
interesting.

The third chapter, titled Language and Writer ,
includes studies for some writers known as Dritero Agolli,
Ismail Kadare, Fan Noli, Luigj Gurakuqi. Being familiar with
and appreciated by a large literary studies, these
distinguished writers in the field of literature, these works
have been studied in the aspect of innovation brought by
their language used in the function of communication
discourse at the Parliamentary Assembly.
Apart from I. Kadare who has been studied for the
uniqueness that has led to the creation of neologisms serving
as a meeting of standard dialects, the language of Noli, Agolli,
Gurakuqi is seen in a little or unknown aspect such as
engagement as representatives of the people in Parliament.
This engagement in the political life of the period in which
they lived in as MPs of the Albanian Parliament served
directly to the enrichment of the Albanian language, not only
with the purest terminology, but also with more varied and
more regular syntax structures.
Under the heading Education Issues in the fourth
chapter there are included three papers dealing with various
issues related to education and research and its role in
improving inter-ethnic relations and issues related to
textbooks in pre-university education, the role and extent of
syntax involvement in these texts, as well as a highly
controversial issue with regard to educational reform, such as
the one of alternative texts, which seems to have not yet
found an effective and definitive solution. Parliamentary
language discourse is titled the fifth chapter in which
several other papers are collected, and they focuss on the
study of issues pertaining to one of the parliamentary
terminology studied during the two periods 1920-1939 and
1991-2013, and the other study deals with the features of
parliamentary discourse only during the first period in the
lexico-syntax viewpoint. The third paper deals with the
parliamentary discourse of the three MPs who, both in their

works and in the parliamentary discourses used the Shkodran
variety, while at the time when the Literary Committee
proposed as the basis of Albanian orthography, the variety of
Elbasan dialect.
In the chapter Foreign Language Studies there are
three papers that cover different themes such as
interculturality in one of the foreign institutions in Europe
where the Albanian language is taught in many other
languages, in INALCO, the second paper deals with issues
about the linguistic features in some of the legal texts
considered here, where the opinion of the opinion of the jurist
linguist is not and vice versa, and the third paper analyzes the
cases of the use of the Albanian language in the language
classroom as well as the value of the use of the native
language in the understanding and acquisition of the
grammatical issues of the foreign language.
Hoping that this summary of language studies will be an
added value in the field of linguistics and will come to some
extent to help scholars interested in the issues addressed and
opinions expressed in it, we express the conviction that it will
be followed by other very serious studies.
Without pretending that this summary has an exhaustive
character of the problems it addresses, hypothesis arises,
contemporary issues are touched and various aspects of the
Albanian language use and learning are observed, which is
not how to incite reflection and debate about the solutions
that can be proposed for them.
