Zusammenfassung:"With a consistent body of empirical support for behavioral interventions, coupled with the need for school psychologists and other personnel to be equipped with knowledge of these interventions, this book was designed. That is, this volume is intended to inform readers by providing information on evidence-based positive behavioral strategies for use in the schools. Furthermore, we felt it was important to provide that information in a concise, easy-to-read, and understandable format. Hence, chapters are written so that a person who is somewhat new to behavioral interventions would be able to use the techniques presented immediately and easily while experienced practitioners could have a helpful resource to guide their practice. Of course, there may be instances in which readers may need to seek out other resources for more details on specific methodologies, implementation techniques, and so forth. We have structured the book around four major areas: (a) Foundations for Designing School-Based Behavioral Interventions, (b) Systematic Approaches to Prevention and Intervention, (c) Specific Behavioral Techniques, and (d) Customizing Behavioral Strategies for Special Populations. In developing this book, we strove to recruit the top researchers in each area, and we believe we have put together an impressive array of authors"--Introduction.
