Zusammenfassung: | This book tells the compelling story of a Christian noblewoman named Tamta in the thirteenth century. Born to an Armenian family at the court of queen Tamar of Georgia, she was ransomed in marriage to nephews of Saladin after her father was captured during a siege. She was later raped and then married by the Khwarazmshah and held hostage by the Mongols, before being made an independent ruler under them in eastern Anatolia. Her tale stretches from the Mediterranean to Mongolia and reveals the extraordinary connections across continents and cultures that one woman could experience. Without a voice of her own, surviving monuments - monasteries and mosques, caravanserais and palaces - build up a picture of Tamta's world and the roles women played in it. The book explores how women's identities changed between different courts, with shifting languages, religions and cultures, and between their roles as daughters, wives, mothers and widows |

The book explores how women's identities changed between different courts, with shifting languages, religions and cultures, and between their roles as daughters, wives, mothers and widows Charism-Schah (DE-588)123868556 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1210-1255 gnd rswk-swf Christentum Geschichte Christianity and other religions / Islam Islam / Relations / Christianity Christian women / History / To 1500 Herrscherin (DE-588)4127219-5 gnd rswk-swf Armenierin (DE-588)7563049-7 gnd rswk-swf Identität (DE-588)4026482-8 gnd rswk-swf Mongolen (DE-588)4040054-2 gnd rswk-swf Naher Osten Middle East / History / To 1500 Ostanatolien (DE-588)4075725-0 gnd rswk-swf Ostanatolien (DE-588)4075725-0 g Armenierin (DE-588)7563049-7 s Herrscherin (DE-588)4127219-5 s Charism-Schah (DE-588)123868556 p Mongolen (DE-588)4040054-2 s Identität (DE-588)4026482-8 s Geschichte 1210-1255 z 1\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe, hardback 978-1-107-16756-8 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe, paperback 978-1-316-61806-6 https://doi.org/10.1017/9781316711774 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
