Zusammenfassung: | In many European languages the National Standard Variety is converging with spoken, informal, and socially marked varieties. In Italian this process is giving rise to a new standard variety called Neo-standard Italian, which partly consists of regional features. This book contributes to current research on standardization in Europe by offering a comprehensive overview of the re-standardization dynamics in Italian. Each chapter investigates a specific dynamic shaping the emergence of Neo-standard Italian and Regional Standard Varieties, such as the acceptance of previously non-standard features, the reception of Old Italian features excluded from the standard variety, the changing standard language ideology, the retention of features from Italo-Romance dialects, the standardization of patterns borrowed from English, and the developmental tendencies of standard Italian in Switzerland. The contributions investigate phonetic/phonological, prosodic, morphosyntactic, and lexical phenomena, addressed by several empirical methodologies and theoretical vantage points. This work is of interest to scholars and students working on language variation and change, especially those focusing on standard languages and standardization dynamics |

spelling | Towards a New Standard theoretical and empirical studies on the restandardization of Italian Edited by Massimo Cerruti, Claudia Crocco, Stefania Marzo Berlin ; Boston De Gruyter Mouton [2017] © 2017 1 Online-Ressource (XVI, 378 Seiten) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Language and Social Life 6 Description based on online resource; title from PDF title page (publisher's Web site, viewed Jan. 23, 2017) In many European languages the National Standard Variety is converging with spoken, informal, and socially marked varieties. This work is of interest to scholars and students working on language variation and change, especially those focusing on standard languages and standardization dynamics In English Italienisch Standardsprache (DE-588)4077831-9 gnd rswk-swf Mundart (DE-588)4040725-1 gnd rswk-swf Sprachnorm (DE-588)4056483-6 gnd rswk-swf Italienisch (DE-588)4114056-4 gnd rswk-swf Sprachwandel (DE-588)4056508-7 gnd rswk-swf Gesprochene Sprache (DE-588)4020717-1 gnd rswk-swf Italienisch (DE-588)4114056-4 s Sprachwandel (DE-588)4056508-7 s Gesprochene Sprache (DE-588)4020717-1 s Mundart (DE-588)4040725-1 s 1\p DE-604 Standardsprache (DE-588)4077831-9 s Sprachnorm (DE-588)4056483-6 s 2\p DE-604 Cerruti, Massimo Sonstige (DE-588)139487514 oth Crocco, Claudia 1987- Sonstige (DE-588)1076496512 oth Marzo, Stefania Sonstige (DE-588)1046067591 oth Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 978-1-61451-888-4 https://doi.org/10.1515/9781614518839 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
