development trajectories of two deliberately selected New World economies: New

scholarship, as well as its rigorous comparative methodology involving a substantial
set of quantitative and qualitative data.
Andre Schlueter received his PhD in Economic History from the University ofVienna,
Austria. He also acquired a Master of Business Degree in Business Economics with
. First Class Honors (together with the LexisNexis Award as Top Overall Graduate of
the program) from Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand in 2007.
