In order to attain this goal, information is needed about the distribution of life in the ocean so that spatial conservation measures such as marine protected areas (MPAs) can be designed to maximise protection within boundaries of acceptable dimensions. Ideally, a map would be produced that showed the distribution of benthic biodiversity to enable the efficient design of MPAs. The dilemma is that such maps do not e Science Geology NATURE / Ecosystems & Habitats / Oceans & Seas bisacsh SCIENCE / Earth Sciences / Oceanography bisacsh Geologie Geowissenschaften Naturwissenschaft Ocean bottom Maps Benthos Habitat Maps Environmental mapping Case studies Submarine topography Maps Case studies Meeresboden (DE-588)4129066-5 gnd rswk-swf Ökosystem (DE-588)4043216-6 gnd rswk-swf Benthos (DE-588)4140346-0 gnd rswk-swf Geomorphologie (DE-588)4130684-3 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)4522595-3 Fallstudiensammlung gnd-content Meeresboden (DE-588)4129066-5 s Geomorphologie (DE-588)4130684-3 s Benthos (DE-588)4140346-0 s 1\p DE-604 Ökosystem (DE-588)4043216-6 s 2\p DE-604 Harris, Peter T. 1958- Sonstige oth Baker, Elaine K. 1957- Sonstige oth 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
