Zusammenfassung: | In the effort towards sustainability, it has become increasingly important to develop conceptual frames to understand the dynamics of social and ecological systems. Drawing on complex systems theory, this book investigates how human societies deal with change in linked social-ecological systems, and build capacity to adapt to change. The concept of resilience is central in this context. Resilient social-ecological systems have the potential to sustain development by responding to and shaping change in a manner that does not lead to loss of future options. Resilient systems also provide capacity for renewal and innovation in the face of rapid transformation and crisis. The term navigating in the title is meant to capture this dynamic process. Case studies and examples from several geographic areas, cultures and resource types are included, merging forefront research from natural sciences, social sciences and the humanities into a common framework for new insights on sustainability |

Trosper -- Synthesis : building resilience and adaptive capacity in social-ecological systems / Carl Folke, Johan Colding, and Fikret Berkes In the effort towards sustainability, it has become increasingly important to develop conceptual frames to understand the dynamics of social and ecological systems. Case studies and examples from several geographic areas, cultures and resource types are included, merging forefront research from natural sciences, social sciences and the humanities into a common framework for new insights on sustainability Nachhaltigkeit Philosophie Umweltpolitik Social ecology Human ecology / Philosophy Ecosystem management Environmental policy Sustainable development System theory Resilience (Ecology) Sozialökologie (DE-588)4043208-7 gnd rswk-swf Nachhaltigkeit (DE-588)4326464-5 gnd rswk-swf Soziales System (DE-588)4055764-9 gnd rswk-swf Umweltverträglichkeit (DE-588)4061655-1 gnd rswk-swf Ökosystem (DE-588)4043216-6 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Soziales System (DE-588)4055764-9 s Ökosystem (DE-588)4043216-6 s Nachhaltigkeit (DE-588)4326464-5 s Umweltverträglichkeit (DE-588)4061655-1 s 2\p DE-604 Sozialökologie (DE-588)4043208-7 s 3\p DE-604 Berkes, Fikret edt Colding, Johan edt Folke, Carl edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-06184-1 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-81592-5 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511541957 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
