Zusammenfassung: | Microscopic organic-walled fossils are found in most sedimentary rocks. The organic particles - spores, pollens and other land and marine derived microfossils, representing animals, plants, fungi and protists - can be extracted and used to date the rock, reveal details of the original sedimentary environment and provide information on the climate of the time. The mix within a sediment of whole organic particles - palynomorphs - and organic fragments - palynodebris - form palynofacies. This book presents research work on the sedimentation of components of palynofacies and details their importance for sequence stratigraphy and the interpretation of ancient biologic and geologic environments. A comprehensive introduction to the subject is presented in the first chapter. Palynosedimentation in modern environments, the reconstruction of terrestrial vegetation and the application of the data to sequence stratigraphy are then considered. Later chapters detail various quantitative methods and their specific applications in the subject. This is a valuable reference work for palynologists and sedimentologists and also for paleobiologists, and for professionals working in the hydrocarbons industries |

Sedimentation of palynomorphs in rocks of pre-Devonian age / Paul K. Strother -- Modern pollen transport and sedimentation: an annotated bibliography / Martin B. Farley Microscopic organic-walled fossils are found in most sedimentary rocks. This is a valuable reference work for palynologists and sedimentologists and also for paleobiologists, and for professionals working in the hydrocarbons industries Palynology Sedimentation and deposition Micropaleontology Mikropaläontologie (DE-588)4125948-8 gnd rswk-swf Mikrofossil (DE-588)4169818-6 gnd rswk-swf Palynomorpha (DE-588)4518032-5 gnd rswk-swf Fossiler Pollen (DE-588)4335092-6 gnd rswk-swf Pollenanalyse (DE-588)4046629-2 gnd rswk-swf Sedimentation (DE-588)4054080-7 gnd rswk-swf Palynologie (DE-588)4121448-1 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Palynologie (DE-588)4121448-1 s Fossiler Pollen (DE-588)4335092-6 s Pollenanalyse (DE-588)4046629-2 s Sedimentation (DE-588)4054080-7 s Mikropaläontologie (DE-588)4125948-8 s 2\p DE-604 Palynomorpha (DE-588)4518032-5 s 3\p DE-604 Mikrofossil (DE-588)4169818-6 s 4\p DE-604 Traverse, Alfred 1925- edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-38436-0 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-67550-5 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511524875 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
