Zusammenfassung: | The human organs of perception are constantly bombarded with chemicals from the environment. Our bodies have in turn developed complex processing systems, which manifest themselves in our emotions, memory, and language. Yet the available data on the high order cognitive implications of taste and smell are scattered among journals in many fields, with no single source synthesizing the large body of knowledge, much of which has appeared in the last decade. This book presents the first multidisciplinary synthesis of the literature in olfactory and gustatory cognition. Leading experts have written chapters on many facets of taste and smell, including odor memory, cortical representations, psychophysics and functional imaging studies, genetic variation in taste, and the hedonistic dimensions of odors. The approach is integrative, combining perspectives from neuroscience, psychology, anthropology, philosophy, and linguistics, and is appropriate for students and researchers in all of these areas who seek an authoritative reference on olfaction, taste, and cognition |

Age-related Changes in Chemosensory Functions / Thomas Hummel, Stefan Heilmann and Claire Murphy The human organs of perception are constantly bombarded with chemicals from the environment. The approach is integrative, combining perspectives from neuroscience, psychology, anthropology, philosophy, and linguistics, and is appropriate for students and researchers in all of these areas who seek an authoritative reference on olfaction, taste, and cognition Taste Smell Cognition Geruchswahrnehmung (DE-588)4156907-6 gnd rswk-swf Chemischer Sinn (DE-588)4147638-4 gnd rswk-swf Geschmackswahrnehmung (DE-588)4157029-7 gnd rswk-swf Geruchssinn (DE-588)4129703-9 gnd rswk-swf Geschmackssinn (DE-588)4253946-8 gnd rswk-swf Kognitiver Prozess (DE-588)4140177-3 gnd rswk-swf Geschmackssinn (DE-588)4253946-8 s Geruchssinn (DE-588)4129703-9 s Kognitiver Prozess (DE-588)4140177-3 s 1\p DE-604 Geruchswahrnehmung (DE-588)4156907-6 s 2\p DE-604 Chemischer Sinn (DE-588)4147638-4 s 3\p DE-604 Geschmackswahrnehmung (DE-588)4157029-7 s 4\p DE-604 5\p DE-604 Rouby, Catherine 1944- edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-02097-8 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-79058-1 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511546389 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
