Zusammenfassung: | This work summarizes the empirical and theoretical work on impairments of short-term memory (often caused by damage in the left cerebral hemisphere) and contains chapters from virtually every scientist in Europe and North America working on the problem. The chapters present evidence from both normal and brain-damaged patients. Two neuropsychological issues are discussed in detail: first, the specific patterns of immediate memory impairment resulting from brain damage with reference to both multistore and the interactive-activation theoretical frameworks. Also considered is the relation between verbal STM and sentence comprehension disorders in patients with a defective immediate auditory memory: an area of major controversy in more recent years |

Saffran and Nadine Martin -- Auditory-verbal span of apprehension : a phenomenon in search of a function? / Rosaleen A. McCarthy and Elizabeth K. Warrington This work summarizes the empirical and theoretical work on impairments of short-term memory (often caused by damage in the left cerebral hemisphere) and contains chapters from virtually every scientist in Europe and North America working on the problem. The chapters present evidence from both normal and brain-damaged patients. Two neuropsychological issues are discussed in detail: first, the specific patterns of immediate memory impairment resulting from brain damage with reference to both multistore and the interactive-activation theoretical frameworks. Also considered is the relation between verbal STM and sentence comprehension disorders in patients with a defective immediate auditory memory: an area of major controversy in more recent years Geschichte Human geography / United States / History Human geography / Great Britain / History Störung (DE-588)4133232-5 gnd rswk-swf Neuropsychologie (DE-588)4135740-1 gnd rswk-swf Neurolinguistik (DE-588)4041886-8 gnd rswk-swf Sprachstörung (DE-588)4056500-2 gnd rswk-swf Hörsprachbehinderung (DE-588)4160397-7 gnd rswk-swf Kurzzeitgedächtnis (DE-588)4166258-1 gnd rswk-swf Großbritannien USA 1\p (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift 1987 Como gnd-content Kurzzeitgedächtnis (DE-588)4166258-1 s Störung (DE-588)4133232-5 s Neuropsychologie (DE-588)4135740-1 s 2\p DE-604 Hörsprachbehinderung (DE-588)4160397-7 s 3\p DE-604 Neurolinguistik (DE-588)4041886-8 s 4\p DE-604 Sprachstörung (DE-588)4056500-2 s 5\p DE-604 Vallar, Giuseppe edt Shallice, Tim edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-04275-8 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-37088-2 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511665547 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
