Zusammenfassung: | Seeking Sustainability in an Age of Complexity explains the difficulties of sustainability and why 'collapse' can occur. In the last twenty years the theory of complexity has been developed - complex systems science (CSS) speaks to natural systems and particularly to ecological, social and economic systems and their interaction. Due to the growing concern over the huge changes occurring in the global environment, such as climate change, deforestation, habitat fragmentation and loss of biodiversity, Graham Harris sets out what has been learned in an attempt to understand the implications of these changes and suggests ways to move forward. This book discusses a number of emerging tools for the management of 'unruly' complexity which facilitate stronger regional dialogues about knowledge and values, which will be of interest to ecologists, sociologists, economists, natural resource managers and scientists in State and local governments and those involved in water and landscape management |

This book discusses a number of emerging tools for the management of 'unruly' complexity which facilitate stronger regional dialogues about knowledge and values, which will be of interest to ecologists, sociologists, economists, natural resource managers and scientists in State and local governments and those involved in water and landscape management Nachhaltigkeit Sustainable development Natural resources / Management Erschöpfbare Ressourcen (DE-588)4113467-9 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaft (DE-588)4066399-1 gnd rswk-swf Umwelt (DE-588)4061616-2 gnd rswk-swf Globalisierung (DE-588)4557997-0 gnd rswk-swf Komplexes System (DE-588)4114261-5 gnd rswk-swf Komplexitätstheorie (DE-588)4120591-1 gnd rswk-swf Nachhaltigkeit (DE-588)4326464-5 gnd rswk-swf Gesellschaft (DE-588)4020588-5 gnd rswk-swf Ressourcenökonomie (DE-588)4400948-3 gnd rswk-swf Umwelt (DE-588)4061616-2 s Wirtschaft (DE-588)4066399-1 s Gesellschaft (DE-588)4020588-5 s Komplexes System (DE-588)4114261-5 s 1\p DE-604 Erschöpfbare Ressourcen (DE-588)4113467-9 s Globalisierung (DE-588)4557997-0 s 2\p DE-604 Ressourcenökonomie (DE-588)4400948-3 s Nachhaltigkeit (DE-588)4326464-5 s 3\p DE-604 Komplexitätstheorie (DE-588)4120591-1 s 4\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-69532-9 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-87349-9 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511815140 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
