Zusammenfassung: | For the past three decades the mountain gorillas of Karisoke Research Center have been the subject of many studies focusing on their behaviour and ecology. Long-term observations on known individuals, from birth to death, and data on social behaviour within and between groups have led to an understanding of many aspects of gorilla social structure. The findings have made significant contributions to models of comparative primate behavioural ecology. Mountain gorillas have also been the focus of intense conservation efforts, which have become a model for conservation programs elsewhere. While most research has focused on mountain gorillas, data on the other two recognised subspecies have increased over the past twenty years. This book highlights and summarises some of the behavioural, ecological and conservation work on mountain gorillas, and makes comparisons with findings from other study sites. It represents the most up-to-date and diverse collection of information available on this endangered ape |

Dieter Steklis & Netzin Gerald-Steklis -- Aferword: mountain gorillas at the turn of the century / Bill Weber & Amy Vedder For the past three decades the mountain gorillas of Karisoke Research Center have been the subject of many studies focusing on their behaviour and ecology. It represents the most up-to-date and diverse collection of information available on this endangered ape Karisoke Research Center / Congresses Karisoke Research Center (DE-588)4686267-5 gnd rswk-swf Gorilla / Rwanda / Congresses Berggorilla (DE-588)4144641-0 gnd rswk-swf Artenschutz (DE-588)4112598-8 gnd rswk-swf Verhalten (DE-588)4062860-7 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte (DE-588)4020517-4 gnd rswk-swf Ruanda (DE-588)4076910-0 gnd rswk-swf Virungavulkane (DE-588)4119453-6 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift gnd-content Virungavulkane (DE-588)4119453-6 g Berggorilla (DE-588)4144641-0 s Artenschutz (DE-588)4112598-8 s 1\p DE-604 Ruanda (DE-588)4076910-0 g 2\p DE-604 Verhalten (DE-588)4062860-7 s 3\p DE-604 4\p DE-604 Karisoke Research Center (DE-588)4686267-5 b Geschichte (DE-588)4020517-4 s 5\p DE-604 Robbins, Martha M. 1967- edt Sicotte, Pascale 1961- edt Stewart, Kelly J. 1951- edt Karisoke Research Center host institution Sonstige oth Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-01986-6 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-78004-9 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511661631 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
