Zusammenfassung: | This study is a contribution to the debate, begun just after the October Revolution, concerning the relationship between Marx's project and Soviet society. It focuses, however, only on the political aspects of the matter: to what extent was early Soviet authoritarianism the necessary outcome of Marx's works? Since Lenin's practice and theory largely determined and justified the early political character of the Soviet state, we may ask whether Lenin was implementing Marx's project or a project of his own design. Lenin, influenced by debates within Social Democracy and by the experience of the Russian revolutionary tradition, used a one-sided interpretation of Marx's work to build and defend a 'transition' which was fundamentally authoritarian. Marx was not causally responsible for the theoretical foundation of Soviet authoritarianism |

Marx was not causally responsible for the theoretical foundation of Soviet authoritarianism Marx, Karl / 1818-1883 Lenin, Vladimir Ilʹich / 1870-1924 Lenin, Vladimir Ilʹič 1870-1924 (DE-588)118640402 gnd rswk-swf Marx, Karl 1818-1883 (DE-588)118578537 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte Kommunismus Politik Communism / Soviet Union / History Authoritarianism / Soviet Union / History Dictatorship of the proletariat Politik (DE-588)4046514-7 gnd rswk-swf Autoritarismus (DE-588)4232076-8 gnd rswk-swf Marxismus (DE-588)4037764-7 gnd rswk-swf Diktatur des Proletariats (DE-588)4149921-9 gnd rswk-swf Sowjetunion Soviet Union / Politics and government Sowjetunion (DE-588)4077548-3 gnd rswk-swf Marx, Karl 1818-1883 (DE-588)118578537 p Sowjetunion (DE-588)4077548-3 g Autoritarismus (DE-588)4232076-8 s 1\p DE-604 Politik (DE-588)4046514-7 s Marxismus (DE-588)4037764-7 s 2\p DE-604 Lenin, Vladimir Ilʹič 1870-1924 (DE-588)118640402 p 3\p DE-604 Diktatur des Proletariats (DE-588)4149921-9 s 4\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-12553-6 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-26188-3 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511898372 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
