Zusammenfassung: | This is the first book to provide a hard-headed economic view of the voluntary approaches to environmental issues, especially toxic chemicals, waste disposal and global warming, that have become prominent in recent years. Corporate environmental initiatives are seen as a tool for influencing the behaviour of environmental activists, legislators, and regulators, though they may have ancillary benefits such as attracting 'green' consumers or reducing costs. Equally, government voluntary programs are seen as a way to achieve modest environmental results when political resistance to mandatory policies is high. Rigorous analysis is illustrated with numerous case studies drawn from the US, Europe, and Japan, while technical details are relegated to appendices, and each chapter highlights implications for corporate strategy and public policy. Although rooted in economic theory, this book will appeal to business strategists and policy practitioners, as well as scholars and researchers |

Although rooted in economic theory, this book will appeal to business strategists and policy practitioners, as well as scholars and researchers Industrie Umwelt Umweltpolitik Unternehmen Industrial management / Environmental aspects Corporations / Environmental aspects Business enterprises / Environmental aspects Environmental policy Industries / Self-regulation Public-private sector cooperation Wirtschaftspolitik (DE-588)4066493-4 gnd rswk-swf Unternehmenspolitik (DE-588)4078610-9 gnd rswk-swf Umweltschutz (DE-588)4061644-7 gnd rswk-swf Umweltethik (DE-588)4078520-8 gnd rswk-swf Unternehmen (DE-588)4061963-1 gnd rswk-swf Umweltpolitik (DE-588)4078523-3 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaftspolitik (DE-588)4066493-4 s Umweltpolitik (DE-588)4078523-3 s 1\p DE-604 Unternehmen (DE-588)4061963-1 s Umweltethik (DE-588)4078520-8 s 2\p DE-604 Unternehmenspolitik (DE-588)4078610-9 s Umweltschutz (DE-588)4061644-7 s 3\p DE-604 Maxwell, John W. 1964- Sonstige oth Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-60376-8 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-81947-3 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511607080 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
