Zusammenfassung: | Most discussions of multiculturalism and group rights focus on the relationship between the minority and the majority. This volume advances our understanding of minority rights by focusing on conflicts that arise within minority groups and by examining the different sorts of responses that the liberal state might have to these conflicts. Groups around the world are increasingly successful in maintaining or winning autonomy. In light of this trend, a crucial question emerges: what happens to individuals within groups who find that their group discriminates against them? This volume brings together distinguished scholars who examine this question by weaving together normative political theory with case studies drawn from South Africa, the United States, India, Canada, and Britain. Classical liberalism, deliberative democracy, feminism, and associative democracy are among the theoretical frameworks used to offer solutions to the complex set of issues raised by minorities within minorities |

Classical liberalism, deliberative democracy, feminism, and associative democracy are among the theoretical frameworks used to offer solutions to the complex set of issues raised by minorities within minorities Minderheit Multiculturalism Minorities Minorities / Civil rights Social groups Social conflict Equality Pluralismus (DE-588)4046401-5 gnd rswk-swf Bürgerrecht (DE-588)4146877-6 gnd rswk-swf Minderheitenrecht (DE-588)4039411-6 gnd rswk-swf Nationale Minderheit (DE-588)4039409-8 gnd rswk-swf Gruppe (DE-588)4022378-4 gnd rswk-swf Multikulturelle Gesellschaft (DE-588)4214151-5 gnd rswk-swf Minderheit (DE-588)4752223-9 gnd rswk-swf Politische Theorie (DE-588)4046563-9 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content 2\p (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift gnd-content Multikulturelle Gesellschaft (DE-588)4214151-5 s Gruppe (DE-588)4022378-4 s Bürgerrecht (DE-588)4146877-6 s Nationale Minderheit (DE-588)4039409-8 s Politische Theorie (DE-588)4046563-9 s 3\p DE-604 Pluralismus (DE-588)4046401-5 s Minderheit (DE-588)4752223-9 s Minderheitenrecht (DE-588)4039411-6 s 4\p DE-604 5\p DE-604 Eisenberg, Avigail 1962- (DE-588)132242273 edt Spinner-Halev, Jeff (DE-588)139641211 edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-60394-2 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-84314-0 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511490224 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
