Zusammenfassung: | There is substantial disagreement among policy-makers about how governments should respond to the problem of high unemployment. Thus far there has been little, if any, systematic attempt to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the main unemployment policies available to governments in market economies. Individual policy recommendations are usually made in isolation from one another. This book attempts to provide a balanced assessment of the various policy options, including the following: demand management versus supply-side policy, subsidizing employment and training, restructuring labour market regulations, and reforming the welfare state. The book also examines the political economy of unemployment policy and the effect of this policy on productivity growth |

Millard and Dale T. Mortensen There is substantial disagreement among policy-makers about how governments should respond to the problem of high unemployment. The book also examines the political economy of unemployment policy and the effect of this policy on productivity growth OECD (DE-588)5157-3 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1970-1997 gnd rswk-swf Manpower policy / United States Manpower policy / Great Britain Manpower policy / Europe Arbeitslosigkeit (DE-588)4002730-2 gnd rswk-swf Beschäftigungspolitik (DE-588)4005982-0 gnd rswk-swf Europa Großbritannien USA 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content 2\p (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift gnd-content OECD (DE-588)5157-3 b Arbeitslosigkeit (DE-588)4002730-2 s Beschäftigungspolitik (DE-588)4005982-0 s Geschichte 1970-1997 z 3\p DE-604 Snower, Dennis J. 1950- (DE-588)124825109 edt Dehesa, Guillermo de la 1941- (DE-588)131413139 edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-57139-5 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-59921-4 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511752025 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
