Zusammenfassung: | The family forms of historic Europe have been fascinating in their variety. Their importance for the historical development of our continent would be difficult to exaggerate; for our relationship with the peoples of the other continents of the world as well. This book is an attempt to recover the different familial systems and compare them with one another. The studies range from Russia, Poland, Hungary and Austria to Scandinavia, Flanders and Britain. All the influences which have affected the character and composition of European households are taken into account. The analysis covers their function as productive work groups, in the procreation and bringing up of children, and in the support of the elderly, and their relationship with the wider society and its norms along with its political organization, central and local. Claims that inheritance customs and inheritance practice and the occupation of the household head exerted a powerful influence on the size and composition of households are subjected to rigorous and systematic investigation |

spelling | Family forms in historic Europe edited by Richard Wall in collaboration with Jean Robin and Peter Laslett of the SSRC Cambridge Group for the History of Population and Social Structure Cambridge Cambridge University Press 1983 1 online resource (x, 606 pages) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Title from publisher's bibliographic system (viewed on 05 Oct 2015) The family forms of historic Europe have been fascinating in their variety. Claims that inheritance customs and inheritance practice and the occupation of the household head exerted a powerful influence on the size and composition of households are subjected to rigorous and systematic investigation Geschichte 800-1970 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte Families / Europe / History Households / Europe / History Sozialgeschichte (DE-588)4055772-8 gnd rswk-swf Familie (DE-588)4016397-0 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte (DE-588)4020517-4 gnd rswk-swf Familiensoziologie (DE-588)4133736-0 gnd rswk-swf Europa Europa (DE-588)4015701-5 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Europa (DE-588)4015701-5 g Familie (DE-588)4016397-0 s Sozialgeschichte (DE-588)4055772-8 s 2\p DE-604 Geschichte (DE-588)4020517-4 s 3\p DE-604 Geschichte 800-1970 z 4\p DE-604 Familiensoziologie (DE-588)4133736-0 s 5\p DE-604 Wall, Richard 1944- edt Robin, Jean 1922- edt Laslett, Peter edt Cambridge Group for the History of Population and Social Structure issuing body Sonstige oth Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-09130-5 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-24547-0 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511897535 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
