Zusammenfassung: | Unlike most works in constitutional theory, which focus on the role of the courts, this book, first published in 2006, addresses the role of legislatures in a regime of constitutional democracy. Bringing together some of the world's leading constitutional scholars and political scientists, the book addresses legislatures in democratic theory, legislating and deliberating in the constitutional state, constitution-making by legislatures, legislative and popular constitutionalism, and the dialogic role of legislatures, both domestically with other institutions and internationally with other legislatures. The book offers theoretical perspectives as well as case studies of several types of legislation from the United States and Canada. It also addresses the role of legislatures both under the Westminster model and under a separation of powers system |

It also addresses the role of legislatures both under the Westminster model and under a separation of powers system Verfassungsrecht Legislation Legislative bodies Constitutional law Verfassungsstaat (DE-588)4127082-4 gnd rswk-swf Gesetzgebende Gewalt (DE-588)4131717-8 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Gesetzgebende Gewalt (DE-588)4131717-8 s Verfassungsstaat (DE-588)4127082-4 s 2\p DE-604 Bauman, Richard W. edt Kahana, Tsvi 1967- edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-67682-3 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-85954-7 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511511035 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
