Zusammenfassung: | This collection of essays by scholars from the Andes, Europe and the United States was originally published in the French journal Annales as a special double issue entitled The Historical Anthropology of Andean Societies. It combines the perspectives of archaeology, anthropology and history to present a complex view of Andean societies over various millenia. The unique features of the Andean landscape, the impact of the Inka state on different regions and ethnic groups, the transformations wrought through the colonial presence and the creation of nineteenth-century republics are all analysed, as are the profound continuities in some aspects of Andean culture and social organisation to the present day. The book reflects some of the most innovative research that occurred in the 1970s and 80s. Apart from its substantive interest for students of the Andes and American civilisations in general, it shows the possibility of closer collaboration between history and anthropology |

Apart from its substantive interest for students of the Andes and American civilisations in general, it shows the possibility of closer collaboration between history and anthropology Geschichte Anfänge-1532 gnd rswk-swf Indianer Incas / Social conditions Indians of South America / Andes Region / Social conditions Indianer (DE-588)4026718-0 gnd rswk-swf Ethnologie (DE-588)4078931-7 gnd rswk-swf Andes Region / Social conditions Inkareich (DE-588)4072817-1 gnd rswk-swf Andenstaaten (DE-588)4068690-5 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Andenstaaten (DE-588)4068690-5 g Ethnologie (DE-588)4078931-7 s Indianer (DE-588)4026718-0 s Geschichte Anfänge-1532 z 2\p DE-604 Inkareich (DE-588)4072817-1 g 3\p DE-604 Murra, John V. 1916-2006 (DE-588)143792334 edt Wachtel, Nathan 1935- (DE-588)134289358 edt Revel, Jacques 1942- (DE-588)1093868775 edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-10539-2 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-24667-5 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511753091 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
