Zusammenfassung: | This is an English-language collection of essays on modern German history with a generational theme, first published in 1995. It addresses, first, the extraordinary power and persistence of a German tradition of youthful rebellion extending from the Sturm und Drang in the eighteenth century to the student revolts of 1968 and, second, the impact of the dramatic ruptures and discontinuities in modern German history on the formation and interaction of successive historical cohorts. Using a variety of different approaches, including literacy and oral history, the collection pays particular attention to the way generational identities interacted with those of class and gender. The book adds to our understanding of generations, of the balance between continuity and discontinuity in modern German history, of the generational roots of National Socialism and the Hitler Youth generation's impact on East and West German society |

Gender, generation and politics: young Protestant women in the final years of the Weimar Republic / Elizabeth Harvey This is an English-language collection of essays on modern German history with a generational theme, first published in 1995. The book adds to our understanding of generations, of the balance between continuity and discontinuity in modern German history, of the generational roots of National Socialism and the Hitler Youth generation's impact on East and West German society Geschichte 1770-1968 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte Jugend Youth movements / Germany / History Youth / Germany / Attitudes / History Student movements / Germany / History Socialism and youth / Germany / History Geschichte (DE-588)4020517-4 gnd rswk-swf Jugendprotest (DE-588)4028920-5 gnd rswk-swf Generationskonflikt (DE-588)4071703-3 gnd rswk-swf Jugend (DE-588)4028859-6 gnd rswk-swf Deutschland Deutschland (DE-588)4011882-4 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content 2\p (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift gnd-content Deutschland (DE-588)4011882-4 g Jugendprotest (DE-588)4028920-5 s Geschichte 1770-1968 z 3\p DE-604 Generationskonflikt (DE-588)4071703-3 s 4\p DE-604 Jugend (DE-588)4028859-6 s Geschichte (DE-588)4020517-4 s 5\p DE-604 Roseman, Mark edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-44183-4 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-54568-6 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511562761 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
