Zusammenfassung: | This tribute to Professor Arthur von Mehren from the Harvard Law School is a contribution to the evolving transatlantic dialogue on the conflict of laws. It contains ten contributions that discuss the problems conflict of laws is facing in a globalized world. The first five contributions deal with current legal topics in international civil litigation and transatlantic judicial co-operation ranging from the design of judgments conventions to the recently adopted Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements, and from problems involving negative declaratory actions in international disputes to recent transatlantic developments relating to service of process and collective proceedings. The remaining five contributions focus on choice of law in international relationships. They cover comparative and economic dimensions of party autonomy, reflect on discussions in the choice of law relating to intellectual property rights, and critically discuss the applicable law in antitrust law litigation, international arbitration, and actions for punitive damages |

Application of foreign law to determine punitive damages: a recent U.S. Court contribution to choice-of-law evolution / Oliver Furtak This tribute to Professor Arthur von Mehren from the Harvard Law School is a contribution to the evolving transatlantic dialogue on the conflict of laws. They cover comparative and economic dimensions of party autonomy, reflect on discussions in the choice of law relating to intellectual property rights, and critically discuss the applicable law in antitrust law litigation, international arbitration, and actions for punitive damages Von Mehren, Arthur Taylor Von Mehren, Arthur Taylor 1922-2006 (DE-588)120797410 gnd rswk-swf Conflict of laws Conflict of laws / United States Conflict of laws / Europe Internationales Privatrecht (DE-588)4027446-9 gnd rswk-swf Internationales Zivilprozessrecht (DE-588)4114041-2 gnd rswk-swf Europa USA USA (DE-588)4078704-7 gnd rswk-swf USA (DE-588)4078704-7 g Internationales Privatrecht (DE-588)4027446-9 s 1\p DE-604 Internationales Zivilprozessrecht (DE-588)4114041-2 s 2\p DE-604 Von Mehren, Arthur Taylor 1922-2006 (DE-588)120797410 p 3\p DE-604 Von Mehren, Arthur Taylor edt Gottschalk, Eckart edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-17401-5 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-87130-3 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511511196 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
