Zusammenfassung: | The demographic and social structure of most industrialized and developing countries are changing rapidly as infant mortality is reduced and population life span has increased in dramatic ways. In particular, the oldest old (85+) population has grown and will continue to grow. This segment of the population tends to suffer physical and cognitive decline, and little information is available to describe how their positive and negative distal experiences, habits and intervening proximal environmental influences impact their well-being, and how social and health policies can help meet the unique challenges they face. Understanding Well-Being in the Oldest Old is the outcome of a four-day workshop attended by U.S. and Israeli scientists and funded by the U.S.-Israel Bi-National Science Foundation to examine both novel and traditional paradigms that could extend our knowledge and understanding of the well-being of the oldest old |

The will to live as an indicator of well-being and predictor of survival in old age 17 18 19 The demographic and social structure of most industrialized and developing countries are changing rapidly as infant mortality is reduced and population life span has increased in dramatic ways. Understanding Well-Being in the Oldest Old is the outcome of a four-day workshop attended by U.S. and Israeli scientists and funded by the U.S.-Israel Bi-National Science Foundation to examine both novel and traditional paradigms that could extend our knowledge and understanding of the well-being of the oldest old Gesellschaft Psychologie Older people / Psychology Older people / Social conditions Aging / Psychological aspects Aging / Social aspects Quality of life Wohlbefinden (DE-588)4124481-3 gnd rswk-swf Soziale Situation (DE-588)4077575-6 gnd rswk-swf Alterspsychologie (DE-588)4142056-1 gnd rswk-swf Lebensqualität (DE-588)4034922-6 gnd rswk-swf Hohes Alter (DE-588)4158133-7 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Hohes Alter (DE-588)4158133-7 s Wohlbefinden (DE-588)4124481-3 s Lebensqualität (DE-588)4034922-6 s Soziale Situation (DE-588)4077575-6 s Alterspsychologie (DE-588)4142056-1 s 2\p DE-604 Poon, Leonard W. 1942- edt Cohen-Mansfield, Jiska edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-11391-5 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-13200-8 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511920974 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
