Zusammenfassung: | This book which will come as a surprise to many educated observers and historians suggests that Jews and Jewish intellectuals have played a considerable role in the development and shaping of modern American conservatism. The focus is on the rise of a group of Jewish intellectuals and activists known as neoconservatives who began to impact on American public policy during the Cold War with the Soviet Union and most recently in the lead up to and invasion of Iraq. It presents a portrait of the life and work of the original and small group of neocons including Irving Kristol, Norman Podhoretz, and Sidney Hook. This group has grown into a new generation who operate as columnists in conservative think tanks like The Heritage and The American Enterprise Institute, at colleges and universities, and in government in the second Bush Administration including such lightning rod figures as Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle and Elliot Abrams. The book suggests the neo cons have been so significant in reshaping modern American conservatism and public policy that they constitute a Neoconservative Revolution |

The book suggests the neo cons have been so significant in reshaping modern American conservatism and public policy that they constitute a Neoconservative Revolution USA Government (DE-588)2027858-5 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1900-2000 Geschichte 1945-1989 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte Juden Politik Jews / United States / Politics and government Conservatism / United States / History / 20th century Jews / Intellectual life / 20th century Konservatives Judentum (DE-588)4296529-9 gnd rswk-swf Juden (DE-588)4028808-0 gnd rswk-swf Intellektueller (DE-588)4027249-7 gnd rswk-swf Regierung (DE-588)4049012-9 gnd rswk-swf Konservativismus (DE-588)4032187-3 gnd rswk-swf USA United States / Politics and government / 1945-1989 USA (DE-588)4078704-7 gnd rswk-swf USA (DE-588)4078704-7 g Regierung (DE-588)4049012-9 s Konservativismus (DE-588)4032187-3 s Juden (DE-588)4028808-0 s Geschichte 1945-1989 z 1\p DE-604 USA Government (DE-588)2027858-5 b Konservatives Judentum (DE-588)4296529-9 s Intellektueller (DE-588)4027249-7 s 2\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-54501-3 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-83656-2 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511818721 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
