Zusammenfassung: | Schemas in Problem Solving explores a theory of schema development and studies the applicability of the theory as a unified basis for understanding learning, instruction and assessment. The theory's prescriptions for teaching are direct, and its application to assessment suggests new directions for tests. After examining the roots of the theory in earlier work by philosophers and psychologists, Marshall illustrates the main features of her theory with experimental evidence from students who are learning to recognize and solve arithmetic story problems. She describes individual performance with traditional empirical studies as well as computer simulation. The computer simulation reflects an approach in modelling cognition. Marshall's model links neural networks with symbolic systems to form a hybrid model that uses pattern matching of sets of features as well as logical step-by-step rules |

Marshall Cambridge Cambridge University Press 1995 1 online resource (x, 424 pages) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Title from publisher's bibliographic system (viewed on 05 Oct 2015) Schemas in Problem Solving explores a theory of schema development and studies the applicability of the theory as a unified basis for understanding learning, instruction and assessment. Marshall's model links neural networks with symbolic systems to form a hybrid model that uses pattern matching of sets of features as well as logical step-by-step rules Schemas (Psychology) Problem solving Learning, Psychology of Word problems (Mathematics) Educational tests and measurements Kognitives Schema (DE-588)4164480-3 gnd rswk-swf Problemlösen (DE-588)4076358-4 gnd rswk-swf Mathematikunterricht (DE-588)4037949-8 gnd rswk-swf Schema (DE-588)4052238-6 gnd rswk-swf Lernen (DE-588)4035408-8 gnd rswk-swf Lernpsychologie (DE-588)4074166-7 gnd rswk-swf Problemlösen (DE-588)4076358-4 s Kognitives Schema (DE-588)4164480-3 s Lernpsychologie (DE-588)4074166-7 s Mathematikunterricht (DE-588)4037949-8 s 1\p DE-604 Schema (DE-588)4052238-6 s Lernen (DE-588)4035408-8 s 2\p DE-604 3\p DE-604 4\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-04369-4 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-43072-2 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511527890 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
