Zusammenfassung: | One of the problems in economics that economists have devoted a considerable amount of attention in prevalent years has been to ensure consistency in the models they employ. Assuming markets to be generally in some state of equilibrium, it is asked under what circumstances such equilibrium is possible. The fundamental mathematical tools used to address this concern are fixed point theorems: the conditions under which sets of assumptions have a solution. This book gives the reader access to the mathematical techniques involved and goes on to apply fixed point theorems to proving the existence of equilibria for economics and for co-operative and noncooperative games. Special emphasis is given to economics and games in cases where the preferences of agents may not be transitive. The author presents topical proofs of old results in order to further clarify the results. He also proposes fresh results, notably in the last chapter, that refer to the core of a game without transitivity. This book will be useful as a text or reference work for mathematical economists and graduate and advanced undergraduate students |

Border Fixed Point Theorems with Applications to Economics & Game Theory Cambridge Cambridge University Press 1985 1 online resource (viii, 129 pages) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Title from publisher's bibliographic system (viewed on 05 Oct 2015) One of the problems in economics that economists have devoted a considerable amount of attention in prevalent years has been to ensure consistency in the models they employ. This book will be useful as a text or reference work for mathematical economists and graduate and advanced undergraduate students Fixed point theory Economics, Mathematical Game theory Spieltheorie (DE-588)4056243-8 gnd rswk-swf Fixpunktsatz (DE-588)4121275-7 gnd rswk-swf Fixpunkttheorie (DE-588)4293945-8 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaft (DE-588)4066399-1 gnd rswk-swf Fixpunkt-Methode (DE-588)4139170-6 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaftswissenschaften (DE-588)4066528-8 gnd rswk-swf Fixpunkt (DE-588)4154496-1 gnd rswk-swf Spieltheorie (DE-588)4056243-8 s Wirtschaftswissenschaften (DE-588)4066528-8 s 1\p DE-604 Fixpunktsatz (DE-588)4121275-7 s 2\p DE-604 Fixpunkt-Methode (DE-588)4139170-6 s Wirtschaft (DE-588)4066399-1 s 3\p DE-604 4\p DE-604 Fixpunkttheorie (DE-588)4293945-8 s 5\p DE-604 Fixpunkt (DE-588)4154496-1 s 6\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-26564-5 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-38808-5 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511625756 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 6\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
