Zusammenfassung: | Many political regimes today draw such legitimacy as they have from a revolution: the destruction of an existing political elite and its replacement by a different group or groups drawn from inside the same society. A large part of the ideological dispute in world politics has come in consequence to turn on an interpretation of the character of revolutions as political and social events. It is extremely difficult to separate ideological assessments of the desirability or otherwise of what has occured in revolutions from causal explanations of why these revolutions occurred, and both major traditions in the analysis of revolutionary phenomena have been damaged by their failure to distinguish clearly between explanation and assessment. In examining eight major revolutions of the twentieth century, John Dunn helps readers to remedy this state of affairs by thinking for themselves |

spelling | Dunn, John 1940- Verfasser aut Modern revolutions an introduction to the analysis of a political phenomenon John Dunn Second edition Cambridge Cambridge University Press 1989 1 online resource (xxix, 350 pages) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Title from publisher's bibliographic system (viewed on 05 Oct 2015) Many political regimes today draw such legitimacy as they have from a revolution: the destruction of an existing political elite and its replacement by a different group or groups drawn from inside the same society. In examining eight major revolutions of the twentieth century, John Dunn helps readers to remedy this state of affairs by thinking for themselves Revolutions / Case studies Revolutions Revolution (DE-588)4049680-6 gnd rswk-swf Jugoslawien (DE-588)4028966-7 gnd rswk-swf Osmanisches Reich (DE-588)4075720-1 gnd rswk-swf Algerien (DE-588)4001179-3 gnd rswk-swf Mexiko (DE-588)4039058-5 gnd rswk-swf China (DE-588)4009937-4 gnd rswk-swf Vietnam (DE-588)4063514-4 gnd rswk-swf Kuba (DE-588)4033340-1 gnd rswk-swf Russland (DE-588)4076899-5 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)4522595-3 Fallstudiensammlung gnd-content Revolution (DE-588)4049680-6 s 1\p DE-604 Algerien (DE-588)4001179-3 g 2\p DE-604 Osmanisches Reich (DE-588)4075720-1 g 3\p DE-604 Mexiko (DE-588)4039058-5 g 4\p DE-604 Kuba (DE-588)4033340-1 g 5\p DE-604 Russland (DE-588)4076899-5 g 6\p DE-604 Jugoslawien (DE-588)4028966-7 g 7\p DE-604 Vietnam (DE-588)4063514-4 g 8\p DE-604 China (DE-588)4009937-4 g 9\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-37176-6 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-37814-7 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9781139168175 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 6\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 7\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 8\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 9\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
