Zusammenfassung: | The capability approach developed by Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen has become an important new paradigm in thinking about development. However, despite its theoretical and philosophical attractiveness, it has been less easy to measure or to translate into policy. This volume addresses these issues in the context of poverty and justice. Part I offers a set of conceptual essays that debate the strength of the often misunderstood individual focus of the capability approach. Part II investigates the techniques by which we can measure and compare capabilities, and how we can integrate them into poverty comparisons and policy advice. Finally, Part III looks at how we can apply the capability approach to different regions and contexts. Written by a team of international scholars, The Capability Approach is a valuable resource for researchers and graduate students concerned with the debate over the value of the capability approach and its potential applications |

Written by a team of international scholars, The Capability Approach is a valuable resource for researchers and graduate students concerned with the debate over the value of the capability approach and its potential applications Sen, Amartya / 1933- / Criticism and interpretation Sen, Amartya 1933- (DE-588)119290367 gnd rswk-swf Mathematisches Modell Social justice / Mathematical models Distributive justice / Mathematical models Welfare economics / Mathematical models Poverty / Mathematical models Capabilities approach (Social sciences) Verteilungsgerechtigkeit (DE-588)4127097-6 gnd rswk-swf Wohlfahrtstheorie (DE-588)4066735-2 gnd rswk-swf Soziale Gerechtigkeit (DE-588)4236433-4 gnd rswk-swf Armut (DE-588)4002963-3 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content 2\p (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift 2001 Cambridge gnd-content Sen, Amartya 1933- (DE-588)119290367 p Wohlfahrtstheorie (DE-588)4066735-2 s Verteilungsgerechtigkeit (DE-588)4127097-6 s Soziale Gerechtigkeit (DE-588)4236433-4 s Armut (DE-588)4002963-3 s 3\p DE-604 Comim, Flavio edt Qizilbash, Mozaffar edt Alkire, Sabina edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-15452-9 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-86287-5 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511492587 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
