Zusammenfassung: | Until the late 1960s, most Western scholars studying the history, culture, social and political life and economy of Russia and the Soviet Union, paid scant attention to the participation and experience of women. The multifarious ways in which gender roles and perceptions of gender were influenced by and in turn influenced the heterogeneous cultures of the Soviet empire were largely ignored. However, this neglect has slowly been rectified and now the study of women and gender relations has become one of the most productive fields of research into Russian and Soviet society. This volume demonstrates the originality and diversity of this recent research. Written by leading Western scholars, it spans the last decade of tsarist Russia, the 1917 revolutions and the Soviet period. The essays reflect the interdisciplinary nature of women's work, women and politics, women as soldiers, female prostitution, popular images of women and women's experience of perestroika |

The essays reflect the interdisciplinary nature of women's work, women and politics, women as soldiers, female prostitution, popular images of women and women's experience of perestroika Geschichte 1870-1917 gnd rswk-swf Frau Geschichte Wirtschaft Women / Soviet Union / History / Congresses Women / Soviet Union / Social conditions / Congresses Women / Soviet Union / Economic conditions / Congresses Sozialgeschichte (DE-588)4055772-8 gnd rswk-swf Frau (DE-588)4018202-2 gnd rswk-swf Frauenemanzipation (DE-588)4018218-6 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte (DE-588)4020517-4 gnd rswk-swf Sowjetunion Sowjetunion (DE-588)4077548-3 gnd rswk-swf Russland (DE-588)4076899-5 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift gnd-content Russland (DE-588)4076899-5 g Frauenemanzipation (DE-588)4018218-6 s Geschichte (DE-588)4020517-4 s 1\p DE-604 Sowjetunion (DE-588)4077548-3 g 2\p DE-604 Frau (DE-588)4018202-2 s 3\p DE-604 Geschichte 1870-1917 z 4\p DE-604 Sozialgeschichte (DE-588)4055772-8 s 5\p DE-604 6\p DE-604 Edmondson, Linda Harriet edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-07072-0 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-41388-6 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511520877 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 6\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
