Zusammenfassung: | This 1992 book is a comprehensive study of the position of Soviet industrial workers during the Khrushchev period. Dr Filtzer examines the main features of labour policy, shop-floor relations between workers and managers, and the position of women workers. He argues that the main concern of labour policy was to remotivate an industrial population left demoralized by the Stalinist terror. This 'de-Stalinization' had to be carried out without undermining the power and property relations on which the Stalinist system had been built. The author convincingly demonstrates how labour policy was thus limited to superficial gestures of liberalization and tinkering with incentive schemes. Rather than achieving any lasting effects, the Khrushchev period saw the consolidation of a long-term decline into economic stagnation. The labour problems under Khrushchev are shown to be the same as those which confronted Mikhail Gorbachev and his ill-fated perestroika, thus helping to explain the failures of Gorbachev's policies |

The historical genesis of the Soviet labour force ; Limits of the extraction of the surplus ; The position of women workers ; Skill, de-skilling, and control over the labour process This 1992 book is a comprehensive study of the position of Soviet industrial workers during the Khrushchev period. The labour problems under Khrushchev are shown to be the same as those which confronted Mikhail Gorbachev and his ill-fated perestroika, thus helping to explain the failures of Gorbachev's policies Geschichte 1900-2000 Geschichte 1953-1964 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte Wirtschaft Working class / Soviet Union / History / 20th century Industrial relations / Soviet Union / History / 20th century Arbeiter (DE-588)4112560-5 gnd rswk-swf Arbeiterklasse (DE-588)4068799-5 gnd rswk-swf Arbeitspolitik (DE-588)4112577-0 gnd rswk-swf Arbeitsbeziehungen (DE-588)4002617-6 gnd rswk-swf Sowjetunion Soviet Union / Economic conditions / 1955-1965 Sowjetunion (DE-588)4077548-3 gnd rswk-swf Sowjetunion (DE-588)4077548-3 g Arbeitspolitik (DE-588)4112577-0 s Arbeiter (DE-588)4112560-5 s Geschichte 1953-1964 z 1\p DE-604 Arbeiterklasse (DE-588)4068799-5 s Arbeitsbeziehungen (DE-588)4002617-6 s 2\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-41899-7 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-52241-0 Cambridge Russian, Soviet and post-Soviet studies 87 (DE-604)BV047656102 87 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511628702 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
