Zusammenfassung: | This book provides an overview of two hundred years of German economic thought, from the Staatswissenschaften of the eighteenth century to National Socialism and the Social Market. Whereas classical economics, from Smith through Ricardo to Marx and Mill, emphasised value, distribution and production, German economic thought had a long-running tradition of human need and the varying conditions for order. These ideas are brought together by a conception of rational action and, therefore, a rationalistic appraisal of welfare and order. By taking this perspective, the usual contrast of market and planning approaches to economic organisation is subsumed by an approach which focuses on the construction of order in economic processes. This book highlights the continuity of this practical approach of German economists through the two centuries under consideration - from the Cameralists to the Ordoliberals |

The genealogy of the Social Market Economy: 1937-48 -- 9. The New Economic Order and European economic integration This book provides an overview of two hundred years of German economic thought, from the Staatswissenschaften of the eighteenth century to National Socialism and the Social Market. This book highlights the continuity of this practical approach of German economists through the two centuries under consideration - from the Cameralists to the Ordoliberals Geschichte 1700-1948 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1750-1950 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte Philosophie Wirtschaft Economics / Germany / History Economics / Philosophy Wirtschaftspolitik (DE-588)4066493-4 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaftswissenschaften (DE-588)4066528-8 gnd rswk-swf Ordnungstheorie (DE-588)4172736-8 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaftstheorie (DE-588)4079351-5 gnd rswk-swf Deutschland Deutschland (DE-588)4011882-4 gnd rswk-swf Deutschland (DE-588)4011882-4 g Wirtschaftstheorie (DE-588)4079351-5 s Geschichte 1750-1950 z 1\p DE-604 Wirtschaftswissenschaften (DE-588)4066528-8 s Geschichte 1700-1948 z 2\p DE-604 Wirtschaftspolitik (DE-588)4066493-4 s 3\p DE-604 Ordnungstheorie (DE-588)4172736-8 s 4\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-46291-4 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-61943-1 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511551529 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
