Zusammenfassung: | When the Bolsheviks came to power in 1917, they believed that under socialism the family would 'wither away.' They envisioned a society in which communal dining halls, daycare centres, and public laundries would replace the unpaid labour of women in the home. Yet by 1936 legislation designed to liberate women from their legal and economic dependence had given way to increasingly conservative solutions aimed at strengthening traditional family ties and women's reproductive role. This book explains the reversal, focusing on how women, peasants, and orphans responded to Bolshevik attempts to remake the family, and how their opinions and experiences in turn were used by the state to meet its own needs |

This book explains the reversal, focusing on how women, peasants, and orphans responded to Bolshevik attempts to remake the family, and how their opinions and experiences in turn were used by the state to meet its own needs Geschichte 1917-1936 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte Politik Domestic relations / Soviet Union / History Family policy / Soviet Union / History Familienpolitik (DE-588)4016418-4 gnd rswk-swf Frauenpolitik (DE-588)4113623-8 gnd rswk-swf Familie (DE-588)4016397-0 gnd rswk-swf Gesellschaftsleben (DE-588)4071788-4 gnd rswk-swf Sowjetunion Soviet Union / Politics and government / 1917-1936 Sowjetunion (DE-588)4077548-3 gnd rswk-swf Sowjetunion (DE-588)4077548-3 g Familienpolitik (DE-588)4016418-4 s Gesellschaftsleben (DE-588)4071788-4 s Geschichte 1917-1936 z 1\p DE-604 Familie (DE-588)4016397-0 s 2\p DE-604 Frauenpolitik (DE-588)4113623-8 s 3\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-37404-0 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-45816-0 Cambridge Russian, Soviet and post-Soviet studies 90 (DE-604)BV047656102 90 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511665158 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
