Zusammenfassung: | A world government capable of controlling nation-states has never evolved. Nonetheless, considerable governance underlies the current order among states, facilitates absorption of the rapid changes at work in the world, and that direction to the challenges posed by interstate conflicts, environmental pollution, currency crises, and the many other problems to which an ever expanding global interdependence gives rise. In this study, nine leading international relations specialists examine the central features of this governance without government. They explore its ideological bases, behavioural patterns, and institutional arrangements as well as the pervasive changes presently at work within and among states. Within this context of change and order, the authors consider the role of the Concert of Europe and the pillars of the Westphalian system, the effectiveness of international institutions and regulatory mechanisms, the European Community and the micro-underpinnings of macro- governance practices |

Within this context of change and order, the authors consider the role of the Concert of Europe and the pillars of the Westphalian system, the effectiveness of international institutions and regulatory mechanisms, the European Community and the micro-underpinnings of macro- governance practices Geschichte 1800-1990 gnd rswk-swf Internationale Politik International organization International relations Internationale Organisation (DE-588)4027366-0 gnd rswk-swf Internationales politisches System (DE-588)4125488-0 gnd rswk-swf Internationale Politik (DE-588)4072885-7 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Internationale Politik (DE-588)4072885-7 s Geschichte 1800-1990 z 2\p DE-604 Internationale Organisation (DE-588)4027366-0 s 3\p DE-604 Internationales politisches System (DE-588)4125488-0 s 4\p DE-604 Rosenau, James N. 1924-2011 (DE-588)130360112 edt Czempiel, Ernst Otto 1927- edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-40531-7 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-40578-2 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511521775 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
