Economic growth and expansion of infrastructure in this country offer opportunities to better utilize the existing pipeline network. The construction of new pipelines extends this network further. <br><br> This book introduces readers to the field of petroleum pipelines, describes the salient features of a pipeline and discusses how this system is superior to other modes of petroleum transportation. It provides a brief account on different types of fluids transported through pipelines and highlights their properties that affect pipeline design. The book details the actual design of a pipeline from route selection, hydraulic, mechanical and other aspects of design and engineering.
