adam_text | Aforty-year old Nigerian would have grown up in the searing heat of seemingly unending reforms,
and not failing to note the awkward fact of some aspects of life substantially remaining the same
after a said reform!
This collection of critical commentaries, in twenty-eight chapters, is thus on different aspects
of “reforms” and especially those dealing with labour and employment relations in Nigeria over the
past three decades or so. A few chapters are re-worked versions of papers presented at the 2005
National Conference organised by the Nigerian Industrial Relations Association (NIRA) and the
Department of Industrial Relations Personnel Management of the University of Lagos and
generously sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Employment, Labour and Productivity.
The contributors are some of the best in Nigeria, drawn from academia, industry, organised
labour, public administration, the judiciary and research organisations.
