Zusammenfassung: | Bhupen Khakhar (19342003) was active in India from the late 1960s. A gentle radical, his luminous paintings addressed issues of class, gender and sexuality with sensitive, often tragicomic nuance. This publication presents a fresh take on his artistic, social and spiritual interests. Significant essays on Khakhars artistic influences are accompanied by focused responses to key works by leading writers, curators and artists. Khakhars unique voice is revealed in excerpts from the last interview before his death in 2003, and in a facsimile reproduction of the artists book Truth is Beauty and Beauty is God, out of print since 1972. With personal and touching contributions by those who knew him, this richly illustrated publication is an essential reference to one of the most compelling and unique voices in twentieth-century art, as well as a significant contribution to the field of international modernism. 0Exhibition: Tate Modern, London, UK (01.06-06.11.2016) / Deutsche Bank Kunsthalle, Berlin, Germany (18.11.2016-06.03.2017) |

0Exhibition: Tate Modern, London, UK (01.06-06.11.2016) / Deutsche Bank Kunsthalle, Berlin, Germany (18.11.2016-06.03.2017) Khakhar, Bhupen / 1934-2003 / Exhibitions Khakhar, Bhupen 1934-2003 (DE-588)120190141 gnd rswk-swf Modernism (Art) / India Indien (DE-588)4135467-9 Ausstellungskatalog gnd-content (DE-588)4135467-9 Ausstellungskatalog Deutsche Bank KunstHalle 18.11.2016-05.03.2017 Berlin gnd-content (DE-588)4135467-9 Ausstellungskatalog Tate Modern 01.06.2016-06.11.2016 London gnd-content Khakhar, Bhupen 1934-2003 (DE-588)120190141 p DE-604 Dercon, Chris 1958- (DE-588)12353058X edt Hoskote, Ranjit 1969- (DE-588)123690242 wat Raza, Nada edt Tate Modern (DE-588)5514913-3 his Deutsche Bank KunstHalle (DE-588)1037258819 his SWB Datenaustausch application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=029121356&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis |
