Zusammenfassung: | This is the first book to focus on the role of Southern Asia and Australia in our understanding of modern human origins and the expansion of Homo sapiens between East Africa and Australia before 30,000 years ago. With contributions from leading experts that take into account the latest archaeological evidence from India and Southeast Asia, this volume critically reviews current models of the timing and character of the spread of modern humans out of Africa. It also demonstrates that the evidence from Australasia should receive much wider and more serious consideration in its own right if we want to understand how our species achieved its global distribution. Critically examining the 'Out of Africa' model, this book emphasises the context and variability of the global evidence in the search for human origins |

Essential questions : modern humans and the capacity for modernity / Martin Porr This is the first book to focus on the role of Southern Asia and Australia in our understanding of modern human origins and the expansion of Homo sapiens between East Africa and Australia before 30,000 years ago. Critically examining the 'Out of Africa' model, this book emphasises the context and variability of the global evidence in the search for human origins Human evolution / South Asia Human evolution / Australia Human beings / South Asia / Origin Human beings / Australia / Origin Frühmensch (DE-588)4155546-6 gnd rswk-swf Verbreitung (DE-588)4187586-2 gnd rswk-swf Australien Südasien Südasien (DE-588)4058406-9 gnd rswk-swf Australien (DE-588)4003900-6 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Australien (DE-588)4003900-6 g Südasien (DE-588)4058406-9 g Frühmensch (DE-588)4155546-6 s Verbreitung (DE-588)4187586-2 s 2\p DE-604 Dennell, Robin edt Porr, Martin edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-1-107-01785-6 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9781139084741 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
