Zusammenfassung: | This study on dictionary look-up strategies shows how think-aloud can be used as an effective research method in studying look-up strategies in depth. The study also shows how a coding scheme of ›look-up operation codes‹ can allow dictionary use researchers to analyze and describe dictionary look-up behaviour. The bilingualised learner's dictionary is shown to be highly usable and useful because of its compatibility with the language needs of learners.
