for the educational experiences of medical students, residents, fellows, and clinical practi-
tioners.

• awareness of new accreditation standards and regulatory guidelines
• expanded discussion of survey methodology for needs assessment

Patricia A. Thomas, MD, is a professor of medicine and the vice dean for medical edu-
cation at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. David E. Kern, MD, MPH,
is professor emeritus of medicine at johns Hopkins University. Mark T. Hughes, MD,
MA, is an assistant professor of medicine at johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Belinda Y. Chen, MD, is an instructor at johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
and the director of the longitudinal program in curriculum development at johns Hopkins
Bayview Medical Center.
