Beschreibung: | Includes bibliographical references (p. [241]-249) and indexes "On April 14, 1994, two U.S. Air Force F-15 fighters accidentally shot down two U.S. Army Black Hawk Helicopters over Northern Iraq, killing all twenty-six peacekeepers onboard. This book attempts to make sense of this tragedy - a tragedy that on its surface makes no sense at all." "With almost twenty years in uniform and a Ph.D. in organizational behavior, Lieutenant Colonel Snook writes from a unique perspective. A victim of friendly fire himself, he develops individual, group, organizational, and cross-level accounts of the accident and applies a rigorous analysis based on behavioral science theory to account for critical links in the causal chain of events. By explaining separate pieces of the puzzle, and analyzing each at a different level, the author removes much of the mystery surrounding the shootdown. Based on a grounded theory analysis, Snook offers a dynamic, cross-level mechanism he calls "practical drift" -- the slow, steady uncoupling of practice from written procedure - to complete his explanation." --Book Jacket |

Based on a grounded theory analysis, Snook offers a dynamic, cross-level mechanism he calls "practical drift" -- the slow, steady uncoupling of practice from written procedure - to complete his explanation." --Book Jacket United States Air Force Management Case studies Geschichte 1994 gnd rswk-swf HISTORY / Military / Strategy bisacsh SOCIAL SCIENCE / Sociology / General bisacsh Führung Black Hawk Friendly Fire Incident, Iraq, 1994 Aerial reconnaissance, American Iraq Black Hawk (Military transport helicopter) Accidents Investigation Friendly fire (Military science) Iraq Organizational behavior Case studies Leadership Case studies Luftaufklärung (DE-588)4127492-1 gnd rswk-swf Militärhubschrauber (DE-588)4125477-6 gnd rswk-swf Friendly fire (DE-588)4650878-8 gnd rswk-swf Unfall (DE-588)4061693-9 gnd rswk-swf Irak USA Irak (DE-588)4072920-5 gnd rswk-swf USA (DE-588)4078704-7 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)4522595-3 Fallstudiensammlung gnd-content USA (DE-588)4078704-7 g Luftaufklärung (DE-588)4127492-1 s Militärhubschrauber (DE-588)4125477-6 s Unfall (DE-588)4061693-9 s Irak (DE-588)4072920-5 g Geschichte 1994 z 1\p DE-604 Friendly fire (DE-588)4650878-8 s 2\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe, Hardcover 0-691-00506-0 http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&db=nlabk&AN=390529 Aggregator Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
