McCleary, Esq. clerk of the Senate, a[nd] Benjamin Pollard, Esq. clerk of the House of Representatives, cause five tho[u]sand copies of the report of the committee, upon the memorials from sund[ry] towns, against the war and embargo, to be printed and distributed in due pr[o]portions, among the towns, districts and plantations in this commonwealth."--p. 12. - Also published, from a different setting of type, without the concurrence of the Senate or the notice from the House ordering the printing of 5000 copies (Shaw & Shoemaker 32040, 32045). - Consists of the report of the joint committee preceded by the resolutions of the House and Senate appointing its members. - Shaw & Shoemaker, 32041. - Signed on p. 12: In the House of Representatives, Feb. 18, 1814. Read and accepted. Sent up for concurrence, Timothy Bigelow, speaker. In Senate, Feb. 22, 1814. Read and concurred, John Phillips, president. - The report proper begins: The committee of both houses to whom were referred the memorials and remonstrances from the towns of Deerfield, Gerry, New-Bedford, Northampton, Southampton, Westhampton, Newbury, Newburyport, North-Yarmouth, Hatfield, Brookfield, Buckstown, Machias, Castine, Brunswick, Hadley, Athol, Gouldsborough, South Hadley, Ellsworth, Brewster, Goshen, Ipswich, Rowley, Belfast, Whately, Warwick, Belchertown, Dartmouth, Chesterfield, Ashfield, Wendell, Shelburne, New-Salem and Beverly, together with the petition of sundry inhabitants of the towns of Plymouth and Penobscot, and the report of the committee of the Honorable House on the petition of sundry fishermen, inhabitants of Boston, have had the same under consideration, and ask leave respectfully to report. - Title from caption and first lines of text
