The importance of correct religious instruction to the people of colour in the city and liberties of Philadelphia, and the prospect of such being afforded in the establishment of a congregation and place of worship, under the care and direction of John Gloucester, a man of colour, induce the subscribers to contribute to an object so well calculated to promote the present and future happiness of the Africans:
